link to JUNE 2022
1st fish of July 2022 arrived at 07.34. Not too shabby an effort! Headless trout delivered by LJ2 whilst LM6 was off the nest. She soon followed on to collect the fish.
It looks like it was a nice calm morning.
LM6 and the chicks got a couple of feeds off this fish before LJ2 took it away. He returned with what was left at around 10.40.
LJ2 started eating it on the nest. Chick #2 came to see if it could get any and LJ2 gently fed it a few pieces before finishing it off.
21.39 LJ2 manages to catch another wee fish (sixth of the day) before bedtime. It was tricky trying to get good sight of the fish, the camera froze as LJ2 flew in.
LM6 moves in to take the fish from LJ2
X6 has a wee peck at the fish whilst LM6 holds it.
Thursday 7th July
06.49 First fish of the day arrives, good size, LJ2 has already eaten the head for his “breakfish”
LM6 quickly collects it
She eats some herself then starts feeding the chicks.
LM6 has been trying different resting positions around the nest.
LJ2 rested here whilst LM6 was away.
I think LM6 has been spending some time on the cam pole too, giving the chicks more room to sprawl around as they continue to grow!

X6 (Olwen) has been trying out her wings with a bit of flapping.
She’s still a bit unsteady with her balance and took a nose dive here! Shortly after around 14.45, LJ2 arrived with a live perch
After landing, something unsettled him and he took off again with the fish, much to everyone’s disappointment!A couple of minutes later he brought it back again
and LM6 took a hold of it, not letting it get away a second time!
KA9 (Gelert) nearest to the camera.
17.30 LJ2 beings another whole fish to the nest.
After a bit of a struggle taking the fish from LJ2’s talons, LM6 has the fish and starts eating.
Initially the chicks aren’t too quick to come for a feed and then X6 is the first over.
After a while and when X6 stops eating, KA9 eventually comes over and LM6 feeds him.
20.38 and LJ2 delivers another whole fish
Both chicks are interested and go over to LM6
KA9 to the left was better positioned and begging loudly for the feed and got more to begin with. X6 withdrew to let KA9 get his share and then they swapped over.
As X6 was being fed, an Osprey flew by over the water, LJ2 I presume as LM6 didn’t react except immediately stop feeding and she became vigilant. The chicks pancaked. After a few minutes, LJ2 flew past the nest to the pine trees to the right. LM6 waited a good few minutes before she returned to the feed. There had been intruder mantling and calling by the parents on the nest earlier in the day. All was well and the fish finished off by KA9 who came back over as X6 settled down. LM6 swallowed the tail end.
This is a family snap taken after this fish was delivered. Only KA9 didn’t turn for the camera! I’ve brightened and cropped the image. (cutting out the plastic and metal to the left and right of the nest)
That's a beautiful image, Glider! Typical, there's always one that will not comply! lol

Haha yes thanks Sandra. I liked how the adult ospreys had positioned themselves with LJ2 at the back being the head of the family.
