link to JUNE 2022
1st fish of July 2022 arrived at 07.34. Not too shabby an effort! Headless trout delivered by LJ2 whilst LM6 was off the nest. She soon followed on to collect the fish.
It looks like it was a nice calm morning.
LM6 and the chicks got a couple of feeds off this fish before LJ2 took it away. He returned with what was left at around 10.40.
LJ2 started eating it on the nest. Chick #2 came to see if it could get any and LJ2 gently fed it a few pieces before finishing it off.
21.22 and LJ2 brings a nice headless fish to the nest. LM6 had been fish calling loudly.
A quick handover to LM6
Both chicks have a good feed. KA9 first to the right then X6 gets her turn.
LM6 then takes what she wants and the tail end is left on the nest for later.
Monday, 11th July
Good morning and it’s another fine day. 06.12 and LM6 brings in a big stick then decides it’s time to eat what’s left of last night’s fish.
Brenig’s Facebook posted this earlier about yesterday’s intruder.
More intruding, LJ2 lands on the nest around 09.25 mantling and chipping.
13.39 and I think this is the first fish brought in today by LJ2 but it looks worth the wait!
Looks like both chicks had a good feed. (KA9 centre)
The chicks are being trained in lookout duties - everyone to your corner!
Another live fish delivery 16.57
19.16 and what looks like a pike has been delivered to the nest. X6 was calling loudly with LM6.
LM6 collects the fish and takes it to the other side of the ever shrinking nest! (A lot of recent stick deliveries and some moss) Both chicks follow her over to see what’s for supper. (X6 left)
