You are a kind hearted individual Scylla. Mrs Axel or Mrs AX6 will be what I will use but I very rarely post on the live chat board attached to the webcam or the Facebook Group.

Sorry, but I am not as kind hearted as my beautiful friend.

My reaction to the Mistle fiasco / snub / abhorrence?

Very rational. Create a to-do list:

Resign RSPB membership with a detailed email explaining why - CHECK DONE!

Block the website Notes on Nature - CHECK DONE!

Alter my will removing the gift to RSPB - In prep - emailed my lawyer asking for an appointment on Wednesday - God look after me and don't take me until at least Thursday.

    Nothing too reactionary I think.

Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

  • 09. 20 FISH  is that #1?

  • Have not posted on this site but have followed since the days of Henry. Very unhappy that Mistle is not a choice on the voting slip I received this morning. Won't vote, complained to rspb. Happy to lose in a democratic vote but insult to some of those most invested in the nest not to have a choice.
  • I think a lot of we faithful LG nest followers are of like mind, VickiL.

  • 11.59 MISTLE gave an intruder chip, but nothing more. Was it AXEL or a passing intruder? We will never know
12.06 I don't think it's raining, but the chicks are tucked under mum
12.17 One has wriggled free. MISTLE backs up away from them, gives a brief call before taking a comfort break
12.21 She returns, followed by AXEL who hovers over her, and thinks better of it. He clonked the cam, and although I don't think landed on it, he must have landed somewhere.
The cam had a whirlygig..... and resumed seconds later. Chicks are lying down ignoring everything.
12.45 MISTLE calls. Loudly! She sounds expectant... but there is no sign of him yet.
    12.52 She is now quiet
12.55 Another yell. towards the dead trees. The wind has really got up now.

13.11 She is quietly preening. Chicks are lying down paying no attention.

  • No change - am off to watch the tennis and Heather Watson, which followed the 100 year's celebration of Centre Court. Fantastic collection of past winners, except Navratilova, who won nine times, but has Covid.

  • 16.10 MISTLE starts calling
16.20 lovely to see the sun come out at last. The view has improved, but the cam still definitely needs a clean.
16.25 More calls from MISTLE. The chicks have been snoozing, but they now wake up and stand up enough to waddle towards MISTLE.
16.30 #2 FISH. AXEL stays a minute or two and flows off.
MISTLE and the chicks tuck into the substantial fish.
AXEL himself looks as though he has eaten too.

I was expecting to be updated on the score when you returned. No time to watch the tennis here when there is a test match on. New balls please!

  • Sadly she lost! But Norrie is thru.
By 17.30 the feed appears to be over
    18.15 Mistle is brooding
    18.38 she is calling
18.40 AXEL arrived with #3 FISH. He left almost immediately, and the feed commenced.
