Ii know it's been very upsetting, Jane, but if I were to cut off from this nest I'd feel as tho I were blaming the dear birds, and I know that they are well-meaning at HQ, I am sure the strength of feeling shocked them. Besides which - we've been thru worse, believe it or not.
(I hope no-one's read this before I finished the 10th edit )
LOL Scylla. Difficult times really. I have been very upset by the attitude of RSPB towards we who post on the "COMMUNITY" forum and although I feel in my heart I ought to continue with the name WE gave her in 2021, and which in those early days was used by the VC. However, to the wider world I guess this will look somewhat churlish. I have been very surprised by the VC attitude towards we faithful followers of the LG nest. To publicly denounce us has been heartful. It might have been nicer to have posted here to say we are stupid, and must go with the flow! LOL. Perhaps it would have been better if they had consulted the Deshar Primary School, as they have in the past. 2008 was the first year, when they named satellite tagged Deshar and Nethy. The affect of that had quite an impact on the school children. In 2019 the BBC made this wonderful video of the children talking about osprey.
Although it may take some time to feel comfortable with it, it is with great regret I will henceforth call our dear MISTLE, Asha

12.54 FISH #2?? She started calling at 12.24 and took off. I wonder whether that was when Axel landed on a nearby perch. Perhaps she went to encourage him to bring the fish to the nest! She called off cam at the time. I wasn't sure whether perhaps she was after an intruder but she wasn't mantling as far as I could tell, on her return.
I think there was a fish delivery at 12:54
Edit: Sorry Sheila, your post wasn't showing when I did mine.
13.47 Is that a sky dance I can hear??
14.18 Asha, there I've done it, has called, and flown off. Chasing Axel or an intruder? I suspect the former.
14.19 And returned
Crikey, I think she brought back a large sticky stick!
I listened thru the 47th minute twice, Sheila, but couldn't detect skydance. Heard a couple of chirps from the nest, that's it. Means nothing, what I hear ;)
