All quiet on the Osprey front. Mistle started gently food soliciting, then quiet, then stood up to reveal.........
,, what appeared to be a half eaten rainbow trout! No doubt Scylla will be able to get a much sharper image than me. All this happened about 5:45. It was as stiff as a board. When was that delivered?
Afrer faffing around getting images 1 of them has come back to the nest and is incubating - can't tell which.
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

16.46 Mistle moves a troublesome stick, first by a pointy bit
then grabbing a more substantial length of it
Satisfied she had a short fly about
16.49 she returned with a gentle chip and something small in her talon.
16.51 it must be getting cooler now. She moves sticks and twigs near the chicks and half lies down over the chicks but doesn't settle
Well, if the heads are under that's OK. we can pretend the rest of us is!
17.10 Axel returns with a still substantial fish end - what wonderful sharing!
Axel flies, and Mistle feeds herself and the chicks

Yes, CC, they really do seem to have put on a spurt in the last seven days. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly they grow up, and saddens me.
