All quiet on the Osprey front. Mistle started gently food soliciting, then quiet, then stood up to reveal.........
,, what appeared to be a half eaten rainbow trout! No doubt Scylla will be able to get a much sharper image than me. All this happened about 5:45. It was as stiff as a board. When was that delivered?
Afrer faffing around getting images 1 of them has come back to the nest and is incubating - can't tell which.
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
The site is still slow but not as bad as previous 3 nights.
Last evening Axel visited @ 22:07 and stayed 8 minutes suffering a futile earole-bashing from Mistle.
22 June
Mistle returning from flyabout (brightened):
It looks wettish this morning - Mistle is constantly looking out for Axel, she's wearing herself out! She hasn't been off the chicks since daylight.

I had added that in as an afterthought and no sooner had I hit Post, Mistole flew off. No bonking, Mistle brought back a sturdyish stick:
FISH !!! !!! !!!
13.21 Fish. Which looks whole, on inspection but...somewhat stiff???? I don't know...

Axel floats down with contact calls, after chatting with her from off cam. He looks to see if there is any fish left as Mistle picks up fish shreds from the nest and asks him for another fish.

It looked stiff to me, too! But at least it was no tiddler.
Later in the afternoon - was this the worst stick so far this season?
