A good look at both bobs, an hour after Chick2 hatched. C1 22.45 on 9th May, C2 12.14 on 10th May. One more to go!
Confirmation of Second Hatch from Rutland
just noticed that before closing down and now running late so I go now.

Too-long video of the morning's events - #1 bobbling and feeding, #2 hatching and bobbling (I thought it had hydrocephalus for a while!).
I see that I'm dupliating others' work but sorry, I had my head in it so long, was unaware of anything else going on in the world

"Many animals cannot control when their young are born. But birds are able to influence when they want their eggs to hatch.
There are two ways they can do this. Firstly, the females can control the timing of the development of her eggs before they are laid, and secondly, the adult birds can decide when to begin incubation, as egg development does not begin until the adult warms the eggs."
Evening ALL - just catching up and was so pleased to see bob #2 being offered some fish earlier
