Laddie (LM12) and NC0 have continued their excellent partnership from last season, not only with the incubation of their three beautiful eggs but also in defending the nest, and area, from intruding Ospreys.
During the middle of this month, all being well, we will witness three gorgeous chicks hatching and being lovingly cared for by their wonderful parents. Here’s hoping that fine weather, abundant deliveries of fish from Laddie, as well as NC0’s feeding skills, will see the little ones thrive.

A whole fish for NC0 at 15:37. Laddie had flown from the birch area
Cam zoomed in
NC0 about to leave
She didn't drop this one!! (I think she's on the feeding post)
©SWT/LotL
16:35 NC0 returned with the remainder of her fish
Laddie saw the fish end
NC0 began to tuck in
Laddie headed off, gliding sideways in the breeze
NC0 continued to eat some fish
She then went to the nest cup, leaving the tail end of fish on the edge of it
At 16:53ish, NC0 stood up and started to snack on the fish. She took several good bites of it...
...before bringing back to the nest cup
NC0 sat on it along with the eggs
17:14 Laddie came back to the nest
He spotted the fish
He couldn't get to it
He altered his position...
...and grabbed hold of it!
He made a hasty retreat from the nest with the fish tail firmly in his beak! lol
NC0 resumed incubation
I surprised myself with that one, Glider, I thought the pic would have come out too blurred! You're welcome.
Laddie left his 1 hour 12 minute incubation duty at 20:23 after making a few contact calls. (He hadn't delivered a fish when he originally took over)
NC0 flew from the birch to the nest
Laddie and NC0 are so 'in-tune' with each other, it's just wonderful to watch!
Good morning Glider and all,
For some reason, I'm noticing it more this year, Glider, but their partnership was fantastic last season too. Oh yes, everything crossed!
Laddie delivered a headless breakfish to NC0 at 5:15
8:24 Laddie is incubating at present after relieving NC0 at 7:42ish
Looking at NC0 on the dead birch around 09.30am, she seems to be much clearer to see, maybe the lighting this morning or the branch she’s on. I even saw her have a wee shake!
