Laddie (LM12) and NC0 have continued their excellent partnership from last season, not only with the incubation of their three beautiful eggs but also in defending the nest, and area, from intruding Ospreys.
During the middle of this month, all being well, we will witness three gorgeous chicks hatching and being lovingly cared for by their wonderful parents. Here’s hoping that fine weather, abundant deliveries of fish from Laddie, as well as NC0’s feeding skills, will see the little ones thrive.

21:00 I just heard a dive. NC0 began to call
I know, it was a bit hectic as we wanted to see the fish, Laddie's eye, the feed and the hatching chick! lol. M15 is a male Bald Eagle
21:00 Laddie diving from the tree behind the nest then a splash could be heard within moments
He could be seen rising here

He headed into the tree area (red dot)

A headless fish at 21:19! So it was a successful dive!
#3 was very 'wibbly wobbly' and right at the front, it couldn't keep still enough to receive any fish this time
Laddie feaking his beak. #3's back can be seen between its two siblings
#3's head on the right
From left to right - #1, #3, #2

Glider said:Thanks Sandra, that’s reassuring to hear about the other Osprey. I was just thinking that that was some moment in the nest there - Laddie arriving with a fish and a sore eye, NC0 frantically feeding 2 chicks and a 3rd being born all at the same time!! Lol I didn’t know where to look!
Thanks Sandra for clearing that up for me that it’s Eagles, not Ospreys who are nesting at Florida SW Eagles!! The clue is in the name doh! Sometimes I think I just read what I want to see!! lol
Lol, no problem, Glider! That is a really good nest to watch during the winter months. M15 and Harriet were successful in raising two chicks this season, E19 and E20, both of whom have now left the area and living their own lives.
It's a lovely evening at Lowes, I think the calm water helped Laddie with his successful fishing trips. What a first-class Osprey he is!
