LOCH GARTEN - MARCH / APRIL 2022

So wonderful to see a male and female on the Loch Garten nest again. I’m sure it will have made a lot of observers very happy this Easter. Thank you to all who have put photo captures on this site. Does anyone know if or when their names/ring numbers will be put on the UK ospreys website?

Apologies Scylla, I must have spent too long doing my post that yours got in before I actually pressed the button. Wonderful captures. It was a glorious morning and some wonderful opportunities to capture the beautiful snips. A morning to remember!

That will be up to Peter Dee, but if this season continues without desertion like last year, I'm sure he'll add it with 2022 arrival times for next season's countdown  

SHEILA - I would have had to crop/sharpen/contrast the tail consumption, I was envisaging the procedures and said "sod it" to myself.  One gets worn out.

I agree with your comment on UK Ospreys. I think Pete has said somewhere something to the effect that if they breed they will be added.

I don't think that Mistle brought any fish back to the nest.

No, she's been nagging him for fish imperiously and insistently. I almost expected a wing slap similar to what Lady did at Loch of Lowes a few years back when she had lost patience with no fish delivery.

Both Axel and Mistle land 13.45pm, looked like a successful mating.

I agree, she is clearly not hungry but occasionally she sounds like she's starving, lol. She should use her energy to get some more nest material instead of calling to be fed again!
