All quiet on the Osprey front but all delighted to be able to watch the NEW nest on the NEW cam. Thanks to all for the hard work erecting / installing both. You derserve a sucessful breeding pair this year for your efforts.
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
How wonderful to hear of a visit by a female ? osprey.
She landed at 09.47
and looked all around the area rather than bothering with the nest. Has she seen another osprey in the area, or is she looking in hope?
09.51 she took off
A minute later she returned, showing her under-wing markings
What or who is out there?
under a minute later she is off again
I don't think she has returned, yet!

During both visits she looked as though she was looking for something/one. She didn't settle at all.
LOL I hadn't heard the call at all - I had the sound off!!
Thank you, SANDRA !!! The old story of RF open too long while I fiffed 'n faffed

Thank you, CRINGER & AILIE :)))
And the same old VLC performance where it freezes so I miss unmissable sights like that
She broke her stay with a flyabout, otherwise an unremarkable visit - I do hope she's gone off to tell a partner about this lovely nest:

That is quite a warning 'chip' she gave on her second visit. It would be good to hear from the VC - all their emphasis is currently on the WTE nest and the new chick.

Repeating what I mentioned elsewhere, I'm packing up for a while - good luck to everyone watching our precious nests <3
EDIT before I go - some unretouched snaps from a piece of a session:
There were 2 females at least and one male, and the girls didn't want him around but he did come back:
Unringed Female landed again for a brief while at 15.28.
Could this be the one known as Mistle from last year?
Has anyone got any comparison shots? This one details the underwing.
Birdies LG DU update.
