I think this will be an interesting season at Loch Arkaig - who is going to take residence is the big question?
For me it doesn't matter who, just as long as the nest is occupied.

Thank goodness it's cooled down and is raining gently - much more pleasant after another sticky night. The front gets the sun full on in the morning and the back in the afternoon, even with open doors and closed curtains, the heat builds up inside. 27* is still too hot! But better than 33*.

Windows and doors should be kept shut during the day to stop the heat entering the house. If they are open it allows the heat to enter the house. Windows on opposite sides of the house should be opened at night to allow the heat to escape with the cross flow of air.
I will bear that in mind for the next heatwave - there was a sniff of a breeze yesterday so the thought of being sealed up in a hot box when there's a bit of wind is not enticing. But the science is on your side.
Catch up video from last night, Louis brought a late fish, number five, at 22.25
05.10 Today's first fish:
06.36. Fish number two, headless Silver Tourist rather than the usual brown trout? Very silvery, can't see any spots, bigger than the last fish but not especially beefy.
08.25 Dorcha removes the body of little bob.. gone but not forgotten..
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Yes, horrible to see but fortunately a better passing than poor little LotL chick3 and certainly much quicker. Chick2 is making sure of a good share of the food, pushing to the front as well as occasionally self feeding, so it's looking good for both 1 & 2.
Look at the golfball Bob2's got in its crop!
The casual windswept look is in right now..
15.45.07 Fish number three, whole brown trout. Louis hangs around doing a bit of nestorising, his tail feathers slightly block bob2's access to the fish.
