I think this will be an interesting season at Loch Arkaig - who is going to take residence is the big question?
For me it doesn't matter who, just as long as the nest is occupied.

Same here. Dorcha is a lovely Osprey but Aila had a special place in our hearts.

Aila was my first Osprey - as a long-term member of Woodland Trust, I was intrigued when I got my newsletter in 2017 saying they'd installed a nest cam on an ancient Osprey nest - knew little about them, started watching, and became slightly obsessed. Was still working then, but once I retired - and youtube started allowing 12-hour scrollback - I was able to look in on other Osprey nests. And soon realised just how special Aila was. Charismatic, forceful, delicate, gentle, hilarious, caring - she will never be forgotten.
I watched her arrive in that blaze of golden glory that I used to end her video, that's how I think of her. I'm glad you like my tribute.
12.32 Egg is singing sweetly when Louis gets up to make adjustments. Zoomed clip, shell looks pretty intact still.
Dorcha arrives with a small stick, inspects Louis and the eggs, then places that big annoying one in a better position.

15.02 Oh dear! When we said 'wet the baby's head', we didn't mean so literally! Now it's positively storming!
