Start of a new year so start of a new thread.
I have changed the title slightly.
It could be a momentous year when, hopefully, our resident Ospreys return.

Amazing footage of the Goshawk attack - I took a screen shot which appears to show brave CJ7 had grabbed the wing of the juvenile Goshawk in her talons and pulled it out of the nest giving FH2 a chance to escape!

EDIT 8th August - all sorted, thank you
Hi there - putting out a call for assistance for the Flight of the Osprey expedition team.
They're looking for a suitable campsite, or maybe a farmer with a field and an interest in birds, for tomorrow night and the night after when they vist the Poole Harbour Ospreys. Unfortunately the campsite they have isn't suitable as it's too active - noisy - for media interviews, and Paul at BoPH said he can't help them.
Three vehicles, they basically need a campsite and if poss with loos. Last minute, I know, just asking on the off chance.
Many thanks... Message me or post here if the thread starter's ok with that.

What a worrying time at Poole. This may be old news. It appeared on Poole's FB page three or more hours ago

It’s been a busy and difficult last 36 hours, but we wanted to provide a quick update for everyone on the condition of the younger Osprey chick 5H2, who was unfortunately at the receiving end of a predation attempt by a Goshawk on Friday evening. The juvenile Goshawk first put in an appearance on the webcam at around 18:30, before returning to the nest again at 19:40 and making an attempt at 5H2.
Despite CJ7’s impressive reaction to the Goshawk, our team were concerned for 5H2 and reacted quickly, locating her on the ground near the nesting tree. She had sustained a considerable wound to her flank which required attention, and so was collected and cared for at an emergency vet over Friday night, and transferred to a specialist vets on Saturday morning.
Currently, 5H2 is still in veterinary care and being closely monitored. With muscle damage to her left flank, she will continue to be assessed and require further medical attention. In spite of her injury, she has so far been alert and bright-eyed, which has been reassuring to our team. We will keep you updated when we have further information on her condition.
