CAPTIVA OSPREYS - Andy & Lena
I'd been posting in "Forum Friends", here's a snap brought over, for the sake of starting this thread with something!

Info about the sheepshead fish
26 January
Only one fish today - and that one was lost when a Bald Eagle chased Lena and she dropped it. Andy flew to attack a couple of times but of course it didn't do any good. The action is very difficult to see.
Happened to notice in passing that someone posted on the Captiva YouTube site yesterday that there are many Osprey nests on Captiva and on Sanibel Island (right next door). She posted that there is an Osprey nest every couple of hundred yards on Captiva, and that the sound of Ospreys calling can be heard all over the island. If that is correct, there must be huge competition for fish from other Ospreys as well as from Eagles, Gulls, Pelicans, Dolphins, etc. and from humans fishing as well. I wonder how many Osprey nests there actually are on Captiva and on Sanibel.
Kind regards, Ann

I'm about to try to find a map of the area - I had thought that the Captiva nest was on Sanibel Island until I read something today
As I may have said, I followed the Ocean's Reach (Sanibel) nest in my very early Osprey days, it was always troubled (both the residents and the cam itself) and eventually put paid to by Bald Eagles, from that time to now there's been no live stream.
==================
Lena hasn't eaten yet today and she didn't eat yesterday because that lost fish was the only one delivered - unusual.
Here were Egrets - someone said the second lot were Snowy Egrets, the first lot were not remarked upon at all:
27 January - lots of intrusions, Andy spent time reacting and on guard (pretty boy):
Lena didn't get a fish till very late, and then it looked well reduced:
