LYNETTE - so sorry to read your news; condolences to you and the family.

We awoke to a very cold temp outside, with a bitter wind. Then mid morning it began to rain, and its turned into snow. Don't think it will settle.

I woke to a very white world - heavy frost, but clear blue sky and sunshine. That lasted for about three hours, but now it's back to grey and damp. Apparently the temperature is 3 degrees. I'm not going anywhere!

LYNETTE, just saw your sad news, I am so sorry, it must be quite a shock. Big hugs to you.

Here no frost, no snow but frequent rainshowers and still cold. Baked a simple cake after lunch.

1921 census is published today so will hope to get back to some family research if I can enthuse OH to join in again.

Due blood tests so will be trying to get appointment next week - also need to find out how to get any sort of appt with GP to discuss strange symptoms.

Best of luck with your GP appointment OG - we were told at Christmas that our surgery would only deal with emergencies, and would do no consultations until February!!!!

Edit: The snow didn't last long at all, here. It soon  deteriorated into rain and puddles. My OH came home after managing to play 9 holes of golf and devouring hot bacon butties!!

Lynette-Just saw the shocking news of the loss of your Husband! Many prayers and thoughts for you and your family!

Thank you all. We never really realized how sick Ray was. It was found that he had a blockage in his tummy and only an operation would cure it, however, just before going to theatre he had a bad episode wherefore he aspirated to his lungs and it turned into Aspirational Pneumonia of which we were told there is very little chance of recovery. He had not been eating and very little liquid for a few days because of the problem. It is a Godsend that he has gone - he is now out of pain and at peace. Its the aftermath that is daunting but no doubt we will get through and YES there are the memories to keep us going.

Lynette: Seems like your OH had been feeling unwell for some time.... I remember my parents talking about pneumonia (they never said which kind) as being "the old person's friend." Not sure I'd agree, but in some circumstances it may be true. Don't feel obliged to post; just take care of yourself during this 'daunting' time (that's a good word for it). Hugs from here.
