Video: Blue 33(11) - Brief visit to nest 05:59 to 06:02 on 27 Aug 2021

  • I think Maya has gone and we may now have seen the last of 33 for this season.

I'm out all day but will check later for any news. BFN

  • Morning Karen and All
Thank you for those lovely vids which we will treasure and watch over and over during the winter months to keep us going!
You could well be right about Maya but 33 was about at 9.36 on the nest.
So pleased it wasn't this Sunday we were going as we would have missed them for sure!
Busy day so like you Karen will look in later and see if anyone's still here!

  • Both still here - 33 on the nest and Maya does a fly by.

  • 33 on the nest and Maya was calling quietly for fish from somewhere (campost?) but  she has stopped now Perhaps she realized her calls were falling on deaf ears

I didn't ealize I had snapped so many Hey Ho! There can never be too many

  • 33(11) surveys his territory at Manton Bay as he prepares for his departure on migration after another successful season

  • Thanks everyone for all the updates.   Well, lol so much for thinking before I left that my last post could very well have been the last we saw 33 this season.  He has been on the nest almost all day and hasn’t he been a busy boy!!

06:36   the nest first thing this morning

08:15   33 returns and starts to plan his day - fishing or some maintenance work?

08:55  The first of the sticks arrive as 33 gets to work rebuilding his nest

0900   Maya is still here and takes off leaving 33 to it :-D

    09:30  an adjustment here

    09:32   and there

    09:33   hard work - 33 takes a rest

    10:27  back to work

10:42   unseen intruder disturbing his work but at least Maya comes to help him defend

10:52  Maya has flown and 33 carries on

11:19  keeps rearranging old and placing new sticks

    11:27  time for a scrape

    and a little break

    14:29   more rearranging

    and another scrape

    15:29  another well earned rest

15:38   33 looking down - wonder if he has his eyes on the fish!

    16:52   final adjustments

17:04  Enough work for the day  - it looks like a nest again.  And so 33 flies off

Maya calls and then flies off as I type

  • Rutland Ospreys tweeted two intruder Ospreys flew right past the visitor centre after intruding on Maya and 33 on the nest this morning.

  • On scroll back about an hour ago

I don't know why but RF wouldn't let me post the fly away last????
