Ringing Blog >>> Meet our newly ringed osprey chicks - LR1 and LR2
Last month, we saw all three chicks hatch but unfortunately, the third one very sadly passed away after surviving for just over two full days. Laddie and NC0 continue to nurture their two remaining chicks. Long may the good weather, as well as Laddie’s effective hunting, persist so we can continue to watch these wonderful osplets thrive.
20:45 NC0 caught a fish! She flew from the nest perch and landed on the birch. Within moments, she did a great dive (and splash) into the Loch!

Are you sure it was NCO diving, as I saw her fly to the Birch as well, but it looked like Laddie was on the middle branch, so it could have been him fishing.
She was fish calling on the nest, then flew to the Birch and could be heard calling again.

Yes Richard, NC0 brought the fish back to the nest (I've added pics now to my post above - my computer crashed!)
Edit - It was LR2 who was fish calling as far as I could tell (both have been mimicking her)
21:00 Laddie delivered a fish
And another at approx. 21:15
Approx. 21:32 NC0 caught another one, diving from the birch again!
Shaking water from her feathers
21:45 Laddie with a 'live' fish (crikey, it's a fish-fest!). NC0 was on the birch and came to the nest to retrieve it
22:05 NC0 left the nest again, headed low behind the tree (arrowed)
A splash was heard and within a second or two, she flew off and away beyond the birch
22:17 She came back to the nest from that direction with something in her talons. She gave a good shake of her feathers and stayed on the nest for a short while before leaving again, heading straight to the birch, where she landed on top of one of the branches
A whole head and body shake
22:30 She landed back on the perch but didn't stay for long
She was heard to land above the cam a very short time later
23:19 Both chicks resting hopefully under the watchful eye of NC0
