Arrival dates
Laddie 21.3.21
NC0 25.3.21
It has been great to witness Laddie (LM12) and NC0 renew their bond and also begin to make a safe and cosy nest for impending eggs. It is encouraging to watch NC0 much more comfortable in her surroundings and hope that all continues goes well for them both from here on in.

billy r said:More disturbance for both birds from another osprey. THey have both been leaving eggs to try and chase it away
Thanks Billy, I'll have a scroll through.
I've found 3 intruder instances - 2 involving Laddie and 1 with NC0. Some snippets...
With Laddie...there may have been a brief touchdown on the front right edge of the nest
Laddie flew from the nest after chipping/alarm calling
He came back after a little while. Unringed intruder, top right
NC0
I'm not sure if there were other events?

At 16:45, Laddie delivered a fish to a very hungry sounding NC0
NC0 flew off with it in her beak. She landed on the birch to enjoy it
18:20 Laddie is still incubating
A little after 19:05, NC0 returned
She did land on the perch but then made her way onto the edge of the nesy
NC0 shoved (literally!) Laddie off the eggs
Laddie flew sideways off to the right. NC0 took over incubation
NC0 has been shouting! Unsure what upset her but it went on/off for a couple of minutes. Perhaps crows were close?
Just before 20:00, Laddie came to the nest and spent almost 5 minutes with NC0. He did chip a couple of times at the beginning of his stay
His flight away from the nest saw him take a sharp right and passed behind the trees
He's been back twice since - 20:39 and again straight after leaving the nest at 20:44(ish), the latter time saw him mantle/chip/alarm call
2nd visit
He didn't appear to be in pursuit when he left the nest
21:00 All is calm as NC0 continues to incubate
Good morning
4:55 Laddie relieved NC0 of her overnight duty
5:40 NC0 returned
7:00 It's looking like a nice, calm day - let's hope it remains that way
You're welcome, Patily. I've been thinking about PT4 and PT5, from dear Lassie's last brood in 2019, they're due back this year
Laddie with a stick just after 7:20, he placed it on NC0's head
He spent under 5 minutes with her but hoping he has now gone fishing
