Arrival dates
Laddie 21.3.21
NC0 25.3.21
It has been great to witness Laddie (LM12) and NC0 renew their bond and also begin to make a safe and cosy nest for impending eggs. It is encouraging to watch NC0 much more comfortable in her surroundings and hope that all continues goes well for them both from here on in.

Just checked back...
Must see !!!
About 06:10, osprey flew in with nice fish, NC0 got up and flew right at him with a terrific clash and they both tumbled, flew off in different directions, NC0 returned safely to nest:

Scrolling back NC0 was chirping for breakfast, she got off the eggs, and not sure if it was Laddie bringing in a fish or not, and she mistook him for an intruder as she actually had a fisticuffs mid air with this bird.

Again Scylla your post wasn't there when I was posting, do you think it was Laddie bringing in the fish or an intruder. I did a slo-mo video, don't suppose we will find out as all happened so fast.
Maybe in Slo-Mo we can have a guess at who it was.

About 25 minutes ago, NC0 (quite vocal) flew from the nest and headed left (and behind cam view), another Osprey took off from the birch at the same time and flew low past the back of the nest. It had a fish

Around 31 mins ago Laddie brought the fish to the nest and NC0 flew off with it, he took over incubation.
Just prior to your snaps, Mary, it appeared that Laddie was flying over the nest with the fish before delivering to NC0. Not sure if he made a couple of contact calls or chips while flying
Away from the nest
Coming back round before landing (apologies for the blur!)
I wonder if it was him before trying to deliver the fish, so this time he decided to do a wee fly aboot to let NC0 see it was actually him with the fish Sandra
Thank you Mary, for your slo-mo vid of the 'strange' event. On both your one and Scylla's, chipping could be heard a second before, then after the 'clash' as well as when NC0 reached the birch area. As to if she mistook Laddie for an intruder, I think the jury is out on that one! lol

Hahaha, Mary, you could be right there!
