Arrival dates
Laddie 21.3.21
NC0 25.3.21
It has been great to witness Laddie (LM12) and NC0 renew their bond and also begin to make a safe and cosy nest for impending eggs. It is encouraging to watch NC0 much more comfortable in her surroundings and hope that all continues goes well for them both from here on in.
11.4.21: Blog - NC0 lays an egg
14.4.21: Blog - NC0 lays her second egg
17.4.21: Blog - NC0 lays her third egg
16:51 After a lull with his calls, he has begun to make them occasionally again
Edit - 16:55 Quiet again and just looking round
BBL
An osprey landed on one of the right-side trees behind the nest. Unsure if NC0 was contact calling or if they were soft warnings at the time
Its flight from the left
Landing, right
Flight away and headed to the birch
An attempt at mating 17:45 NC0 not responsive at all
Can the 'Spanish dancer' be seen on the back of his head here?
He stood on her back as she got up and then flew off
WAS THIS LADDIE?? THE MASK APPEARS THICKER/DIFFERENT TO ME.
I find it strange, I've not seen on-cam mating for a number of days and now this change of tact (if indeed it is Laddie)

19:52 Laddie with nesting material
Hope he brings NC0 a fish soon, she's sounding rather peckish!
20:14 NC0 getting in a flap (literally 4 times and slight stomp of her feet! lol). Is it because Laddie is on the birch with a fish?
"Yoo-hoo, I'm waiting over here!"
20:31 NC0 is now shouting. Another bird has joined Laddie on the birch (maybe a crow?)
As I typed, another bird landed on the middle branch of the birch
Laddie (I assume?) took off from the left branch of the birch and flew towards the nest with a fish (top, centre). He veered off to the left, past the nest, but flew round behind the nest tree if judging by NC0's head movement is anything to go by
Curiously, she didn't attempt to stand up as if to expect the fish to be delivered
20:55 Still no fish for NC0. She's extremely quiet
21:05
Nightcam on 21:13
Quite a peaceful night apart from a commotion on the water waking up NC0 from a tucked sleep.
Just before 07:00 she took off and Laddie flew in with a fish and took over while NC0 had a nice flyabout and came back to the perch for a little scratch and preen:
Then she flew off with the fish:
Laddie was watchful and warned someone off, settled down again:
Later, an unseen threat from the opposite direction, Laddie flew off after flapping at this one:
He was only gone about 15 seconds, he's still incubating.
IMAGICAT
Sensational ;) live! snap of NC0 taking back over just now:
