Arrival dates
Laddie 21.3.21
NC0 25.3.21
It has been great to witness Laddie (LM12) and NC0 renew their bond and also begin to make a safe and cosy nest for impending eggs. It is encouraging to watch NC0 much more comfortable in her surroundings and hope that all continues goes well for them both from here on in.

Lovely to see this pair back on their usual nest

Yes, very much so, Korky. I hope there is more settled weather soon.
Laddie rose, gave his wings a flap and flew off
NC0 resumed incubation

Great news ! thanks for your capture Korky and your captures Sandra -great
I'm sure someone will be along with the video of it happening, but my heart was in my mouth watching NCO rearranging the main side structure of the nest. That was one very big stick she was moving about, probably the biggest stick in the nest.

As far as I can tell from the footage, Laddie has been back twice
First at approx. 18:30 where he attempted to mate but NC0 gave him a shoulder shove (literally!)
Second time at approx.19:45 where he retrieved what looked like a hay covered piece of fish? from the nest cup. He had a quick bite of it and then flew off
Edit - Laddie has not very long reappeared on the nest

Good grief, Richard, have just seen that!
Edit - Dear Laddie got a shove for good measure too!

Brief intruder episode reported/snapped by SANDRA:
It's often not quite as dramatic when seen on video as it is live, when you don't know what's going to happen
