March thread.
This post updated 01 June
MrsG returned on the 25th of March and was joined by Aran on the 29th.
(The beginning of the reunion video is a must-see for all fans of MrsG - I'm posting it today 01 June, to remind us of a happy time before the tragedies of May 2021.)
The month of May brought unrelenting wind, rain and corvids, as well as persistent intruder KS8 (among others) - and Aran somehow injured his right wing, rendering him unable to fish. Within a few days all the chicks had sickened and died. It could hardly have been more stressful for MrsG and Aran, but they are recovering together while the caring Glaslyn team is supplying fish each night.
(The chicks' bodies have been removed from the nest by Aran and MrsG, so we shall never know the cause of their deaths.)
In the right margin of this page are links to Glaslyn's posts documenting the misfortunes on the nest.

Another intrusion, just as I'm waiting for the first one to process. Haven't been able to focus on it yet. Blue Darvic is all I can say. Bird on nest flown now.

Aran's golden early-morning fly-in with stick:
The first intrusion, around 14:35:
Z1 popped to other side, KA3 arrived, didn't stay as long:
Second intrusion - omitting flyabouts where birds can't be ID'd - just Hesgyn on nest:
.
Apparently there was a Buzzard in the morning - I found it but it's far too distant to ask you to look at a snap.
I wonder who this is now?
That's me finished, whatever happens (I promise myself )

Just spotted this on Glaslyn's Facebook page from yesterday. scylla, I think you got snaps of this
'Three ospreys were seen on the Glaslyn nest this afternoon - but neither Mrs G nor Aran were one of them! Z1/Tegid landed first, followed by his half-brother KA3/Hesgyn. An unringed osprey then landed before Z1 chased him from the nest. We wonder who this unknown osprey was?'
MrsG roosted on the perch overnight:
Not long ago she flew to the nest, stood there for a few minutes, then seemed to pounce on her way to flying off - I can't tell if she picked anything up:
17s
Little birdie from perch to right fence of the nest, just stood standin' there.
Intruder(s) again - I don't know if this is the first instance as I haven't been watching.
They just flew from the nest - one may have been Aran, gotta check back now.
The cam that's in use today seems to be chocolate teapot - can't see the whole nest and very unwieldy.
Per Chat, quote "Sami" - Z2/Aeron on nest first, chased off by KS8 Clywedog female. Then Aran landed, and Z2 swooped over.
And "Bywyd Gwyllt Glaslyn Wildlife"- They were all over the Pont Croesor nest before heading towards the Glaslyn nest.
There was a plane going over, I can't do anything about it because there's not enough space between osprey voices to tell "it" to lower the plane only.
Aran was back on the nest @ 14:26 defending vs unseen intruder:
He dived downwards, the cam couldn't pick him up flying away:
