March thread.
This post updated 01 June
MrsG returned on the 25th of March and was joined by Aran on the 29th.
(The beginning of the reunion video is a must-see for all fans of MrsG - I'm posting it today 01 June, to remind us of a happy time before the tragedies of May 2021.)
The month of May brought unrelenting wind, rain and corvids, as well as persistent intruder KS8 (among others) - and Aran somehow injured his right wing, rendering him unable to fish. Within a few days all the chicks had sickened and died. It could hardly have been more stressful for MrsG and Aran, but they are recovering together while the caring Glaslyn team is supplying fish each night.
(The chicks' bodies have been removed from the nest by Aran and MrsG, so we shall never know the cause of their deaths.)
In the right margin of this page are links to Glaslyn's posts documenting the misfortunes on the nest.

Still there at 12:44 and she has been rearranging the sticks!

Poor Aran does not know what to do, although before I posted he did leave the perch and flew at the intruder from behind and then he flew off over the intruder's head, eventually coming back to sit on the rim of the nest. The intruder only moved aside to a slightly different spot on the left hand rim and then began rearranging sticks. I did not have the sound on but saw Mrs G's beak open and close; she must have been saying something but not sure if it was to KS8 or to Aran. Seems to be a bit of a stalemate at the moment.
Kind regards, Ann
KS8 had now settled down next to Mrs G!

As of 14:48, KS8 is still on the nest
Oh gosh, she's tried to lift Mrs G from the eggs!

Eggs appear to be ok and Mrs G's fish is on the left side of the nest (to the left of her tail, 3rd pic). Phew, what kerfuffle that was/is!
