March thread.
This post updated 01 June
MrsG returned on the 25th of March and was joined by Aran on the 29th.
(The beginning of the reunion video is a must-see for all fans of MrsG - I'm posting it today 01 June, to remind us of a happy time before the tragedies of May 2021.)
The month of May brought unrelenting wind, rain and corvids, as well as persistent intruder KS8 (among others) - and Aran somehow injured his right wing, rendering him unable to fish. Within a few days all the chicks had sickened and died. It could hardly have been more stressful for MrsG and Aran, but they are recovering together while the caring Glaslyn team is supplying fish each night.
(The chicks' bodies have been removed from the nest by Aran and MrsG, so we shall never know the cause of their deaths.)
In the right margin of this page are links to Glaslyn's posts documenting the misfortunes on the nest.

IMAGICAT
Bleary day with almost no wildlife, except I think I saw the black cattle "beyond the bridge" but they weren't even slightly zoomed upon.
The new hide:
I've not long noticed that the cam went down around 17:00, got this from rollback - presumably clearing up after the storms?
Birdies LG DU update.
Maybe an Egret in a tree ??? Or someone's bedsheet cast there by recent winds
There was a nice view of the Mute Swan couple feeding but when I went to play it real time it turned out staggery, so no go:
Heron and Great White? Egret, both preening:
I would have done a video of the swan couple as well as this on of Solo, but the cam is freezing - Heather says they're trying to fix it, but it's an old cam
The swan couple were still freezing today, but these lovely doggies ran well. Presumably a corvid on a tree, just for the sake of a bird. I've made it Unlisted so's not to inflict non-events on unsuspecting YouTubers.
28 February
Today was bright, the river looked a bit breezy, I didn't see any of the usual residents all day (but did have a couple of internet outages, not long tho).
Towards evening:
Assuming I'll be starting the new season's thread (but anyone is welcome to, of course, and I mean that)...
I'd been planning to leave it another week at least because I'm ;posting non-osprey stuff almost every day and would therefore inflict many pages on anyone expecting a new thread to start near homecoming time...
But now I'm wondering (besides being shamed by SANDRA and KAREN) whether we might get Dyfi or other intruders earlier than the resident pair are expected, so would anyone like to suggest the best date?
Now is as good as any time, Scylla, especially as Ospreys have now been sighted in the UK (presuming they were not mis-identified Buzzards!) Our Ospreys might be back early...
Kind regards, Ann
