March thread.
This post updated 01 June
MrsG returned on the 25th of March and was joined by Aran on the 29th.
(The beginning of the reunion video is a must-see for all fans of MrsG - I'm posting it today 01 June, to remind us of a happy time before the tragedies of May 2021.)
The month of May brought unrelenting wind, rain and corvids, as well as persistent intruder KS8 (among others) - and Aran somehow injured his right wing, rendering him unable to fish. Within a few days all the chicks had sickened and died. It could hardly have been more stressful for MrsG and Aran, but they are recovering together while the caring Glaslyn team is supplying fish each night.
(The chicks' bodies have been removed from the nest by Aran and MrsG, so we shall never know the cause of their deaths.)
In the right margin of this page are links to Glaslyn's posts documenting the misfortunes on the nest.

Thanks, Mike. I didn't get started till gone 01:00, I seem to have missed 8 hours but not even an hour's daylight, so not much to report.
From reading the little available on Chat and putting 2-and-2 together, I gather that someone has managed to cut the branch that used to semi-block Aran's perch on the "river bend" tree (reading again...) Heather guided "Ollie" via facetime on their phones, it wasn't an easy climb cos the guilty tree was swaying. Thank you, Ollie
I'm guessing this is the new view (vastly enhanced snap):
4K cam back in action?
Cam went down approx 08:10 - the Chat had already disappeared when I noticed so I don't know if it was planned. I shan't be around if/when it comes back up.

But went down again, MIKE
1h16m was completed and saved on the Channel page so I was able to download it - dismal and damp, we didn't miss much. I got the Heron and Egret, distantly:
CAM has been up for 8+ minutes.

Roast beef, Yorkshire pudding and 6 veg, I hope - you deserve it!
07 February, fairly early morning - the Mistle Thrush singing, along with others and then one took over more-or-less solo, with a large "vocabulary"... a Wren ??? very tentatively No birds seen except one on the nest/perch from a distance:
Soon afterwards, the cam was changed over and we got a view of the yukky day:
A few hours later there was a view of the new hide in progress - but caught during the processing between 2 sessions, so this is all I got:
08 Feb - I haven't taken down the wind - can you hear this bird @ 02:30hr ??? !!!
Altho the trees didn't move much, the sound of the wind was hor-ren-dous - but the undaunted birdies kept singing thru the morning.
EDIT
Heather completely ignored my plea for an ID of yesterday's bird - but she said "lovely to hear the Robin and M Thrush this morning" so maybe my Wren was a Robin. Shame on me.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
