March thread.
This post updated 01 June
MrsG returned on the 25th of March and was joined by Aran on the 29th.
(The beginning of the reunion video is a must-see for all fans of MrsG - I'm posting it today 01 June, to remind us of a happy time before the tragedies of May 2021.)
The month of May brought unrelenting wind, rain and corvids, as well as persistent intruder KS8 (among others) - and Aran somehow injured his right wing, rendering him unable to fish. Within a few days all the chicks had sickened and died. It could hardly have been more stressful for MrsG and Aran, but they are recovering together while the caring Glaslyn team is supplying fish each night.
(The chicks' bodies have been removed from the nest by Aran and MrsG, so we shall never know the cause of their deaths.)
In the right margin of this page are links to Glaslyn's posts documenting the misfortunes on the nest.

I let you down today, MIke - I didn't check this thread so didn't see your post, and on my way thru the footage today I decided that the focus wasn't good enough to warrant repetitive snaps/videos.
Recycle bin came to the rescue, I almost wished it hadn't
The egrets especially were on-cam for a long time but I had to omit a lot due to so many cam-jerks
Birdies LG DU update.

Oh dear, I haven't been on duty till now - oh well, that's a few hours fewer work
Thanks for trying, Mike :-*
20 November - bits from the morning before the cam went down.
I've no idea what bird this was and have not taken time to research it, due to time constraints. It has been very severely up-contrasted and up-coloured, so I hope I haven't distorted it for ID purposes:

"Swans taking off like a Stratocruiser with only 1 engine "
(YouTube says it's still processing the HD version - I say "Good luck with that".)
It's a Redwing Scylla - they over winter here. And, looks like a Buzzard on the Osprey nest to me. Thanks for videos and lovely capture. Brilliant vid of the Swan take off and flight ! great stuff

Thank you, Cirrus! I don't remember seeing it before, let's hope it appears often enough to sink in - it's a very nice-looking birdie, IMHO
Well, it's pinky bits didn't show up particularly well, probably a female or youngster.
