March thread.
This post updated 01 June
MrsG returned on the 25th of March and was joined by Aran on the 29th.
(The beginning of the reunion video is a must-see for all fans of MrsG - I'm posting it today 01 June, to remind us of a happy time before the tragedies of May 2021.)
The month of May brought unrelenting wind, rain and corvids, as well as persistent intruder KS8 (among others) - and Aran somehow injured his right wing, rendering him unable to fish. Within a few days all the chicks had sickened and died. It could hardly have been more stressful for MrsG and Aran, but they are recovering together while the caring Glaslyn team is supplying fish each night.
(The chicks' bodies have been removed from the nest by Aran and MrsG, so we shall never know the cause of their deaths.)
In the right margin of this page are links to Glaslyn's posts documenting the misfortunes on the nest.

I will be doing a vid later but am otherwise engaged at the mo. In the meantime - a live snap
I was catching up with Glaslyn too. How lovely to see both Aran and Mrs G together. Mrs G tucking into a fish she arrived with and Aran doing a spot of housework and snoozing. Talk about marital bliss after all the trauma of the season.
A very low and loud helicopter has just passed overhead. Aran looked a bit concerned, but soon got back to moving sticks, while Mrs G just ignored it, enjoying her fish.
15.38 (all times approximate!) Mrs G arrived with a very large, possibly live fish
Followed by Aran, who was either faux mantling or concerned about an unseen intruder
Aran soon relaxed and we had a view of Mrs G
The lovely Aran, looking very relaxed

The helicopter passed over - apparently it was the Coast Guard helicopter - quote from chat "a chap was helicoptered to Stoke this morning after a bad crash on Porthmadog by-pass". I don't know whether the two are connected.
Just now, 16.31.
How wonderful to see them both together again. Aran is now tidying the nest again!

Aran has flown. Mrs G continues to eat her fish 17.00. He flew down to the right, over the long thick grass and too a circular route, clockwise, back to the nest.
So wonderful to see them together
"Are you going to leave me any?"
Nah!
