March thread.
This post updated 01 June
MrsG returned on the 25th of March and was joined by Aran on the 29th.
(The beginning of the reunion video is a must-see for all fans of MrsG - I'm posting it today 01 June, to remind us of a happy time before the tragedies of May 2021.)
The month of May brought unrelenting wind, rain and corvids, as well as persistent intruder KS8 (among others) - and Aran somehow injured his right wing, rendering him unable to fish. Within a few days all the chicks had sickened and died. It could hardly have been more stressful for MrsG and Aran, but they are recovering together while the caring Glaslyn team is supplying fish each night.
(The chicks' bodies have been removed from the nest by Aran and MrsG, so we shall never know the cause of their deaths.)
In the right margin of this page are links to Glaslyn's posts documenting the misfortunes on the nest.

Thank you for that optmistic tale, GARDENBIRDER - hope for the future!
I'm still hoping to have time to go back a few days and find MrsG on fir, as posted by SHEILA, to see if a portrait can be done, which would be a bit different setting from what we're used to. This distance is rather hard for the cam to hold focus on, tho.
Then he flew to this oak and stayed for a while, flying off downwards and out of sight:
Hmm:
Our royal couple was also seen on the nest together and in other distant trees.
Don't know where MrsG roosted but Aran was here - I thought she was with him but, I assure you, the one on the right was a COW
07 July
They arrived approx 04:30, she marginally first:
She joined him on the nest and after a while he flew - when he returned she thought he might have a fish but no, they both ended up flying off and it's been ENS since.
It must be packing up time, I wonder what's left to cover? Tick-tock-tick-tock goes one's little brain
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Super, CATHY!
I completely lost yesterday @ Glaslyn from my mind, and to think there was all that excitement going on And now I'll be far to late to get info from Chat
Off I go to glean something... anything!
And I wonder where that norty SHEILA was, too? In the garden again?
Early morning clump delivery by Aran:
He didn't stay long, and was next found on one of his trees... then it rained for an hour ??? ... that was up to about 11:00:
Aran was still "out there" for some time, until he flew in with MrsG to ward off intruders - no-one seen:
One of them was then seen in the mass of oaks, then Aran was on a fir - his right wing looks quite droopy in this pose:
(Well I'm having to post because this box is refusing to accept snaps, maybe I'll be able to edit in...)
EDIT
^^^ there ya go! That's a spearmint with a new non-frame I found
Another view of right wing - the "joint" - as he flies to nest:
MrsG hoped he had a fish:
After about 15 mins they both flew. That's up to something past 17:00.
Some rough 'n hasty snaps thru the evening:
MrsG defended briefly on the nest, I don't know who flew over - maybe Aran had shifted himself:
She was back again to fend off a corvid, Aran was out on his most usual tree, MrsG came back to roost for the night, having a jolly good preen:
