Ospreys return to Llyn Brenig
We’re excited to see the return of ospreys at Llyn Brenig this year. Whilst, unfortunately, neither Blue24 or HR7 have returned to the nest, we have been joined by two Scottish birds who seem to be making themselves at home. These are Blue LM6, a Scottish female from Lake of Menteith Stirling, and Blue LJ2, a Scottish male originally from South Argyll, both born in 2018. You'll have a birds-eye-view via the live webcam as the ospreys feed, build their nest and hopefully raise their chicks and can keep up-to-date with our osprey blogs. This year we continue to work with Dwr Cymru to ensure that the birds are protected, as well as improving the visitor experience for you. Exciting developments include the nest live stream, a pre-bookable photography hide, an osprey interpretation room with two large screens, and the new ‘Osprey Lookout’. We also plan to host a range of events on-site this year too.
The visitor centre at Llyn Brenig re-opens next Monday (April 26) and our on-site staff are looking forward to seeing you again. With our largest nature reserve Gors Maen Llywd on the north shore of the lake, why not make a day of it!
