Birdies LG DU update.
It was wonderful to watch her on the nest

Great to see her showing an interest on this nest, some more fish Laddie and then you will get your reward! In the clip that Scylla posted at 5.56am, page 31, just after the fish delivery, what was the sound? Both birds looked alert, sounded to me like clapping!?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Catlady, it was a Swan in the process of taking off, it is such a large bird it cannot just take off, and has to "run" across the water while flapping it's wings to get enough lift and speed to take off. The noise is their wing tips hitting the water. It also does the same thing to move to another part of the loch without having to actually fly. If you look at the top middle of the screen you can see one swan taking off as another one lands.

Great spot, Richard!
15:02 Laddie to the nest with a stick
It helped that I knew what the sound was.
NC0 joined Laddie on the nest. He had got into an excitable flap and mantled then tracked a bird (from right to left) just prior to her landing (2nd & 3rd pics)
Successful mating. Laddie flew off
NC0 has remained on the nest
