TROGLODYTE
I think I'll be a troglodyte -I'll creep into my cave, at night,It's well equipped, of course With all I need, except a horse -Which would take up too much room, of course.
Every day, I'll listen toThe discussions which I want To do, fromThe sounds of radioFrom Far and Distant Lands -I'll have all the necessary fancyWave Bands.
I'll get advice from far away -The Colonies, and the U.S .of A -It'll help not to get too depressedAnd remind me, when I might need a vest....Up here, in Northern parts of our isleWhere we grow our hair -All up to here, and down to there.
Or when I think the world is Just Too MuchTheir wisdom is the thing I can clutchTo my bosom or my brain -Their attitudes and mine, are much the same!
The thing which strikes me as absurd, isWe're bound together by a bird:A kind not seen just every daySomething called an Os - per -ay!As we all enjoy what nature bringsEspecially if it has big wings.
So, snug inside my cave I sitTo try to make the best of itWhen times are tough, and things look badI can imagine I'm a birdWho cuts out the world,Contentedly upon my nest -With friends who really are the best!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Kind regards, Ann
