Weekly Chat, Sunday, December 5, 2010

Hi everyone: Have a nice Sunday. Don't forget to catch up on last few entries of previous week - AQ is havng a hard time sleeping coz of the heat!!

Daughter here for the night; catch up tomorrow.  :-)

  • SheilaFE : Definately on the nest live and moving. I watched it with Realplayer.

  • Ah ha!!  Thanks Alan, I see there is more information further down.  Always wise to scroll before questioning :))

  • Hello, Everyone:   Just popping in to say, I felt very queasy yesterday and there has been a lot of that awful vomiting virus about, so I stayed in & moped about a bit, then got some letters written.  I thought it might turn out rather nasty, but thankfully I had a reasonable night last night and feel a lot better today - still don't quite know what I want to eat, though.

Sadly, we should have been to visit new Grandson today, (not very advisable in my state, & may pass it on) but as they have had a houseful with their in -laws and our Eldest plus The Girlfriend, they probably would be glad we didn't turn up!  Shall cook a bland meal soon,  & settle down to watch the 'Strictly' Semi Final.

So pleased to hear that dear Hamish is now OK and wagging his tail again, after his vet's ordeal. And no lampshade! - that's usually the bit they hate the most, so he's a lucky boy!

See mentions that poor Annette has had a horrible day, so will now read back to see all the goings on, above.  Noticed some wonderfully clear pics of Starlings from OG.

    Keep warm, everybody/

  • Oh dear Lindybird I am so sorry to hear you suffering.  Nasty.  Better stay safe and warm inside.  Keep taking the fluids and enjoy Strictly.  I am glad that Ann went last week.  Had she stayed it would have been at the expense of a potential winner.  I am swaying in my view.  I love Matt mainly for his dancing, but his character stands out for me as someone I would like to meet.  But I think Kara is probably the better dancer, and they make a sweet couple.  I think that Gavin will go this weekend, but am very unsure who will be the second one.

  • Oh, margo!  Have cried over your beautiful ecard!    Thanks so much - did also enjoy your previous card the other day, too, & will be sending it on to some of my friends.  I have written a special version of a Christmas tune, as a seasonal poem, and will post it here nearer to Christmastime.

Poor Annette, we all have days like that & it just makes you want to go curl up in a warm place, somewhere!

I seem to have spaced my disasters out, this week, and have burnt an ugly unrepairable hole in the worktop (right next to the new stove, so you can't miss it!), lost some Christmas presents which I hid away, and broke a cup yesterday whilst poking around in the cupboard for something to eat when I didn't know what to have. Hope you have a better time over the next week, with the workmen still around.

Nice to hear that auntie is having a few days off in her busy life - enjoy!

Everyone else, sorry no time to reply to All, but keep well/get over those colds & torn ligaments, only 2 weeks to The Big Day, now!

  • MARGO     thank you for the lovely Christmas card.

LINDY Get well soon. When I am off colour I always find eggs a comfortable meal to eat, Whether boiled, omelette or scrambled with cheese . It is something I always find goes down easily. hope you manage to eat something.

  • Thanks Sheila-  I have not actually been sick, but just felt awful.  Not as bad as some.  Hope that the Final of the Dancing will be:  Kara, Matt & Pamela.  Don't mind which wins.  Though it could be a toss up between Matt & Scott  in this weekends elimination- one thing for sure, that awful Gavin has to go - never saw anyone so vain in all my life!

Thanks dibnlib - had scrambled egg last night & also for lunch, today!!

  • Hi folks.  Haven't even been able to read posts this last few days as had a lot of work notifying people that we were postponing today's heat of our Dog Agility Winter League because of the weather - quite a few email addresses were wrong, which was a pain!

Alan So glad Hamish has come through his op unscathed.  Several of my lot think the vet is there to make a fuss of them, which is a great help.

Paul Lucky you to have 2 Tree Sparrows.  We had one the other day but haven't seen it since.  Have several linnets, both male and female, as regular visitors.  The scope which I ordered from RSPB on Tuesday evening arrived on Friday morning!  Can now have a clear view of all the birds.

Red squirrel is still around the gardens in this area - great to watch him.

    Keep well and warm everyone.

  • Hope you have all been able to enjoy the ' milder' temperatures and hope there hasn't been any flooding nearby. Back home after a very enjoyable couple of days with our daughter, although my OH's friend had got us the theatre tickets for next Friday !!! He didn't realise until he met us and I noticed the date on the tickets. He couldn't stop apologising and it was all quite embarrassing but I think we made him feel that it really didn't matter. We can't make it next Friday though.

As many of you said, we also have Panasonic TV's. Our newest one is now 3 years old and has been fine, but now scared 'to tempt fate'. Hope they sort it out quickly for you Annette.

Alan, I am so pleased to hear that Hamish is fine after his operation and doesn't have to wear one of those 'lampshades.

OG, Sorry about the burst pipe. Your OH seems to be very efficient at doing all the repairs. My OH will not mind me saying that he would just have to pick up the telephone and pay for the repairs ! Lovely starling photograph.

Dibnlib, Thanks for the baby seal picture. Those eyes are so appealing.

Auntie, Do enjoy your time off work and ' recharge your batteries'.

Sheila, It was Wendy's husband, who had injured his finger. It was disappointing not to see the ballet, but we have seen it before. C'est la vie.

Margo, Thank you so much for your Christmas card and message. It is really lovely and I am sure I speak for us all, when I say that the feeling is definitely mutual.

Linda, So sorry you have been feeling so bad and your visit to see your grandson had to be cancelled. Hope you keep improving and can rearrange your visit soon.
