Weekly Chat, Sunday, December 5, 2010

Hi everyone: Have a nice Sunday. Don't forget to catch up on last few entries of previous week - AQ is havng a hard time sleeping coz of the heat!!

Daughter here for the night; catch up tomorrow.  :-)

  • Good afternoon original goldfinch lovely pic of the gull.

Glad you liked the card, you hit it on the head when you talk about things being innocent  and simple, sadly there is little that is like this nowaday.  The other thing I just love at Christmas is "The Snowman".  OH and I watch it every year and never tire of it.

  • Hi Annette and what a novel idea, deliveries by bike.  Very eco friendly and probably gets around faster.

Glad you liked the car and I am not sure if it is a Jaquie Lawson  ecard as it was sent to me by a friend who had been sent the same from her friend.  Looking at all the addressees at the top of the email it has certainly be doing the rounds.  It I get a moment I will have a look and see if I can find who did it.

  • Good afternoon WendyB glad you had an uneventful drive to Elgin and you must think it is a heatwave at the moment after all the minus temperatures you have been having.  I saw on the news that the melting snow is causing trouble with flooding and lots of people with burst pipes.  Pleased Daisy May is OK after her operation.

  • Good afternoon Dibnlib such a shame for you.  I think you are doing the right thing though.  Glad OH will be helping out.  Take care ahd hope your cold goes soon.

I have been into town this morning so Hello to all.  Much warmer out than it has been and not so mind numbing.  Shops were absolutely packed and had to wait so long to pay for things.  Think that I am just about finished buying presents now.  I had so many bags by the time I finished I had to get a cab.  Could never have struggled on to a bus with that lot and then a 10 minute walk this end.

I am so pleased that the ecard was liked by so many of you.  No harm in being childlike now and again.  It was sent to me by a friend and had obviously done the rounds so it must be really popular now.

Have a good weekend all, not sure if I will be on again until Monday now.  Take care and keep warm.

  • Goodafternoon One and All: Newly back from visit to my doctor in Glenlivet. Dr John is a one man band and his appt. system is well interesting. OH was off for day and came with me for 12.30 appt. but it never goes to plan as I went in at 1.30. Nobody ever gets cross or up tight as he is one of those old fashioned doctors if you need 10mins that's what you get and if you need an hour well that's just what you get. I was sorted and he then comes out for a blether with OH who shows him his poorly finger(what a big baby it was just a splinter turned nasty and I could easily have sorted it out with a sewing needle) but no he had to go into surgery and have it sorted out propery with a healthy dollop of magic cream and a plaster. Quite surprised he wasn't sporting a sling!!

I bet Hamish isn't such a baby Alan.

Thawing a treat but with a lot of fields now flooded there is a lot of surface water on the roads. Popped into Glenfiddich Distillery visitors center for homemade shortbread and a really nice coffee. Tip to anyone visiting this area in the winter that it is one of the few distilleries open 7 days a week (apart from Christmas and New Year) and with a really good coffe shop.

Temperature coming back at 3pm was a really warm 6 degrees. Postie will be in shorts tomorrow, hope not though as I have seen his legs before....not a pretty sight.

  • Margobird, have a nice weekend

Wendy, does sound an interesting trip to the doctors but glad you had a treat on the way back. Your poor OH with his bad finger. Sounded very serious to me (as a man)... lol

Trying to sort out my cell phone which works everywhere but at home.....

  • MARGO  Yet another who loved your card.  Love ballet and a few years ago treated a friend to The Sottish Ballet dancing "The Snowman" We both loved every minute of it and as the review said it suited everyone, children, Mums, Dads and Grandparents. Remember afterwards being chuffed when she said it was the best pressie she had ever had.

Can't remember if I said that bro is back safe and sound and had a wonderful time.

  • Like the sound of your GP WENDY If my Dr is running late I never mind as I always think that it is because someone needs his time.

Have a friend who is a firefighter but is a real wimp when it comes to anything medical. He faints at the sight of a needle and when he had a stookie put on and then taken off later he had to be sure he was sitting securely just in case he keeled over - yet show him a burning inferno and he's in there!!!!!

Will watch "Strictly" tonight and no Widdy thank goodness, a good sport but the joke had worn thin

  • Good news everyone. Hamish came through his op and is recovering strongly. He was ready to take on the world when he left the vets. Thanks for all your concern. I am over the moon.

  • ALAN: Like good news so lots of TLC... do remember he is a MAN!!!
