Just watched Johnny Kingdom's year with the birds Part 2 on i-Player. Does anyone in the UK know whether part 3 (allegedly of 3) was ever shown, or what happened to it??
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

OG, according to his own page, (link above ) it will be shown on Saturday, 11th Dec. but on another page I looked at, it says that it will only be shown in N, Ireland. Sorry, not much help.
OG, sorry if i've missed it but how are the road works coming along? Must be finished by now...

Gary – thanks for reminding me – I had meant to report. Roadworks were under ice, but they came and filled last three wee holes (from taking old lamp posts out) while we were out on Monday. Today the roundabout, it’s entry triangles and associated lane and give way road-markings all got their white paint – they burned the ice off to do it!! There are still clear plastic protection sheets clinging to some of the roadsigns – presumably their removal is fro another team – maybe the council themselves when they come to check on the work of the sub-contractors and “commission” it! This afternoon we were watching the drivers’ antics at the junction. The junction markings are now slowing them down, but after they proceed onto the roundabout we have seen some strange sights! Some are even going the wrong way around it, and many are bumping straight over it.

Thanks, Brenda. Unfortunately, it's not in the BBC schedule for 11th on BBC England or Scotland. Maybe it will come up on i-Player after it's been on in N Ireland.
OK folks, just caught up with todays news. Pulled ligament is coming along nicely as the pain killer I take for my knee has helped to suppress it.
Margobird - slow cookers. I have had one for quite a few years and just love the idea of putting in the evening meal and leaving it all day. By the time 6pm comes I just have to serve it up, would'nt be without one now but only use it about once a fortnight.
OG - love your latest pic. Gary - The pups - adorable.
At least down here it is cold, we had a sprinkling of snow overnight but nothing really to speak of. Staying quite cold - roads are clear although there have been a number of road accidents around, particularly on the M1 and a local one where a car jumped red lights and a bus had to swerve and went into a shop window - this was in Northampton today.
Just wrapped all the Christmas presents for my OH's family who live in Nottingham. Now all we have to do is get them to the family somehow, it'll work out.
What will tomorrow bring, who knows. Those of you who are suffering the really bad conditions up North, stay warm and hope it won't be too long before a thaw sets in and movement will be a lot easier.

OG, thanks! sounds like they are nearly there. Looks like the signing may have to be improved if they are going around it the wrong way. At roadworks here, there is often a sign that says "new layout ahead". Some signs have been there for years. When does a new layout cease to be new??????
Lynette, glad the pull is improving. Hope you get the pressies sorted.
Turning colder now but here on the East Coast, still no snow.
Evening all: Scotland's weather made the 5 o'clock news on NPR this evening. Sounds awful! Please stay safe - and warm if possible.
Gary: Gorgeous little pups - and such a lovely Mom. Here's another name - for the rebel in the group: Maverick (former U.S. Ford auto model; I owned one, it went to 182,000 miles without any trouble before it became a social liability, cosmetically speaking!).
Landscapers making tremendous progress - well, demolition does tend to go fast. It's nowhere as bad as remodeling the inside of the house; just lots of earth and mud about.....Lightning is delighted to have new piles of dirt to investigate!
Sorry I'm not doing individual responses - have fallen behind but do hope folks with various aches and pains are coming along; that all family members are thriving, and that the weather isn't too harsh for those in the northern hemisphere.
Tiger - What a patient cat to wait to be wrapped!
Annette - Xmas decorations in our fair city start appearing after the Xmas pageant (2nd Sat in Nov), then the big flurry at beginning of Advent (this year 28 Nov). Lots of breakup concerts - carols in the park, carols by the lake, etc, etc in these weeks.
Sheila - I miss most tennis these days as it is not always on free-to-air TV. I missed the French Open completely - and I always enjoyed watching them sl-i-i-i-de across the court. Wimbledon is always late at night our time. (Even later sometimes when we get delayed telecasts, so not to interfere with regular programs.) Many are the nights I have sat reading & knitting waiting for the rain to stop. It won’t be the same now with roof.
Gary - Such clever puppies to be born with distinguishing necklaces. LOL
Monday there was rain to north & NE of Adelaide. Never a drop here in the western suburbs. Tuesday the N & NE suburbs, country & hills had 4-6 inches. Roofs off, power lines down, major flooding, one small town (Stockport) evacuated. Here we managed just 1 inch. Everyone complaining where is summer.
Stay warm all, get well all sick & injured.
