Ah. Lovely to meet you, Lynette & Dibnlib. [Pics on previous week's thread.]
Gorgeous pics of snow Wendy, Alicat & Osprey. But I bet you are not thinking "lovely"!!! My nearest to snow was some grey slushy roadside stuff in Tasmania 40 years ago.
Tiger I think I have Gary’s puzzle solved. Alas I can only award you 2½ out of 5 on the brain teasers. I was being diabolical this week. Until Friday then . . .
Linda Successful shrunk pics. The walker’s seat - what a wonderful way to remember someone.
Oh no, Auntie, minus temps already.
Alan Love your intermittent "busy pics", the shivery one, the dreaded leaf blower & the migration.
A bit shivery here today, expecting 20 C max again. I’m not complaining. A quiet day for me. Yesterday I helped Dau2 washing, wiping, cleaning, etc as per her list. G-kids did minimum possible. Brats. After lunch Dau & Sil went shopping while I guarded the fort. I think they were out longer than necessary but I don’t begrudge them that. The brats are really rude & unhelpful. GS greeted me with "what are you doing here?" Hello and nice to see you too! They spoke to their mother on Skype - what a lot of complaining & false info. Grumbling that Sil put passwords on computers. Well Miss14 did abuse the privilege. She is proud of doing badly in final exams. Alas these days kids don’t repeat a year at school. It seems it is more important to stay with peer group than to acquire knowledge. I just don’t understand them. Sorry. Rant over. I’ll go and read Linda’s answers again to put me in a better mood with some giggles.
Hi Annette have just got up after a bad night's sleep. Never do very well when OH is away for the night. We are lucky here, now snow as yet but very cold. They keep saying we are going to get some but as yet it has not materialised. Thanks for reminding about Heron's to keep the bird baths ice free. Last night I actually emptied them and will go out shortly and refill them before the birds start visiting the garden. It is just coming up to 6.30am and have been to see if Billy Whizz has been visiting overnight and most of the milk and food has gone so will have to put new supplies out for him.
Yes I do remember the days when the milk froze on the doorstep and the bottle to would be up in the air. Mum would get a bit annoyed about the birds pecking away at the frozen milk.
A whisky mac is part ginger wine and part whiskey. It is a very warming drink and I hadn't had one for years but I certainly enjoyed the ones I had in London and it did help with the extreme cold.
Margobird
Tuesday morning all! Thanks for all posts, don't even try to reply individually. Very cold here still, at the moment -19C but should get more reasonable temps tomorrow (says she hopefully) It looks absolutely cold even at the SW coast
Must put some warm clothes on and go to shops now. Have a nice day all!

Good morning auntie and parts of the UK have had as low a temperature as you. It has just started to snow here, the first we have had had, been lucky up to now. Hope it will not be too bad as I have to go to hairdresser this morning and as you probably know it doesn't take much for everything to grind to a halt in the UK. Woudl hate to get stuck and not be able to get back home. Take care when you are out and keep warm.
Good morning margobird - I'm just having a quick read to see what's been happening, before I have my breakfast .... I see you have had a bad night .... take care when you are out today!

Good morning DjoanS I will take care. We have light snow falling much to my dismay but OH has told me to get a cab to hairdressers and not wait around ine cold for buses. Quite a long journey to hairdressers so I am grateful I will not be hanging around in the cold. I live at the bottom of quite a steep hill so hoping snow will stop otherwise tax might not be able to get to me. As always it doesn't take much snow for everything to grind to a halt. The sky is brightening up a bit now so perhaps it will now stop. Shouldn't moan really as there are so many others who have it a lot worse.
Good morning all - good week, indeed! Have been reading but not posting. In my area we had more ice than snow - just enough to make driving and walking tricky for a while. Other parts of NI have much more snow, difficult driving and school closures. Ours seems to have cleared overnight, thank goodness. Thanks for all the great pictures. See Sweetpea has had the good sense to stay put till the weather improves!
Morning, Everyone: Do hope that all this snow is not a precursor to what sort of weather we are to have for the whole of this winter! I didn't sleep well, either, things on my mind, so got up at 2.30am and looked out at the fine new layer of snow we have. This morning, much the same, but now it is snowing again, so don't know how much there will be.
Mum - to- Be is seeing the midwife this morning, and Son has promised faithfully to ring me after her visit. For anyone who's lost track, Baby Sweetpea was due on Monday last week! "Well," I said to him, "he/she has to be born by Christmas, at least we know that much!"
Lovely lupins I can see above this post, and also spied a great pic from auntie of the nest in Finland, wreathed in crisp snow.
Will post more of our holiday later, and have a surprise pic of our Most Important Visitor, who made our second week so memorable for me!
Just read back, and now have a great vision of Paul telling off the Ab. Snowman in his garden!! Lovely 'coo' pics, everyone: the hairy ones are so huggable!
OG: Home made Bakewell Slices! I'm on my way over.... Hope your cold doesn't turn out to be major, just a snuffle, perhaps?
Glad you all enjoyed the Monday Smiles this week (more pics like that next Monday, too) I thought the 'Elf & Safety' would have apoplexy if they saw the guy cutting the hedge like that!! Wonder which country that was in...
Keep warm, all in UK!
Good morning Lindybird sorry you didn't sleep well. Hope Mum to be gets on OK this morning. Sweet Pea is certainly loathe to arrive. Snowing here now and I am hoping it will not be too much. Have to go hairdressers and it is a long way from me, don't want to get stuck there. Loaded the bird tables with as much food as I can but will top it up again before I leave. Take care and look forward to surprise pic.
Good Morning ALL and a HAPPY ST ANDREWS DAY to all our Scottish friends.
