Morning/evening all: Off to catch up on today's posts.

  • OG - glad to see we are the same year, you are just 23 days ahead of ours.   We got married on my OH's birthday, 24th Aug.  We had two dates, that and the 31st, my mum said that we were not to get married on her birthday so it had to be the first date. That was the metaphorical window open to us as OH had to take his annual leave on those dates.

Lindybird - liked the pics of your holiday and of local beauty spot ( just above Maccelsfield I think you said), Just two more years and then its your 40th!!

  • Evening all thought that I'd pop in + say Hi. Had abusy day with the snow + all the children everything seems to take a lot longer - tiny needs carried as the snow is so deep 2ft+ hot meals at lunch + helping eldest make chicken tikka masal with rice + popidoms - brilliant for a 12yr old!!

We had a gas cylinder + hob put in when we moved here - not easy to clean but great when the power goes, no piped gas here. In the midst of putting a multi fuel stove in - have the stove but need a hearth wall covering + flue. At the moment its sitting in the corner of the room, really hoping that it might just be fitted before Xmas.

Some said that they liked the pics of snow - which we have plenty off so some to share with those of you missing out!!

Only a v little of the fence left!

Really unusual light through some of the beach trees.

Tiger was  it you that posted the geese - these are mine for the day - loads heading south after all the snow we already have - will have to go + get some extra provisions in I think.

This is the best bird pic I've taken since joining here - a way to go but a start.

    Just had to share!!

  • Wendyb, thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction for pictures.  I am very jealous!  We love the Cairngorm area and always have our hols up there but the next one isn't planned until July :-(.

I just have to make do with looking at the webcams around the area to see what's happening.  We too would love to move up there - maybe one day...
