Morning/evening all: Off to catch up on today's posts.
Margobird, well done, getting onto the volunteers list, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself.
Osprey - cute pic of your youngest
I'm glad I'm not the only one to wander around at night , watch a bit of tele , or sleep elsewhere whilst OH is sleeping soundly. I don't feel so bad now!!!!!!!!!!

When I heard that Kate Middlton was born on 9th January 1982, I thought I remember that day well. You see there was a total lunar eclipse that night supposedly visible from Britain but blotted out by heavy cloud where I was. Indeed I was still waiting to see my first lunar eclipse at that time and had to wait until 17th August 1989 before I finally succeeded.
However 1982 was a very remarkable year as far as eclipses go. There were a total of three lunar eclipses in 1982, on 9th January, 6th July and 30th December. It is very rare for there to be three total lunar eclipses in a calendar year. It occured in 1917 and before that in 1544. It will not occur again until 2485.
Now the astrologers will have a wonderful time with this. I wonder how long before it gets picked up :)
Interestingly William was born on 21st June 1982 and there was a partial solar eclipse that day!
You read it here first. :) :)
Eagle-eye Welcome to our discussions.
I am glad that people enjoyed the aurora video.

Weather down in Northants just cold and frosty in the mornings. No sign of snow yet and isn't forecast to arrive before Sunday, they reckon we will have some by next Tuesday though - we just seem to be in the middle and avoid extreme Eastern side of the country and the West side too.
Loved the pics of the Spey - what a wintry scene but I expect its no fun for those who are out driving in it up in the North and North East!!
Tiger, you've picked up Kate M. was born on the 9th Jan - that's the date of my step-grand-daughters birthday too.

Oh was your step-grand-daughter born on 9th January 1982? If so then the same comments apply to her.
By the way, the other two eclipses in 1982 were not visible from Britain.
Diane - Love your grumpy-looking chicks. Hope your Dad is feeling better soon.
Margo - Congrats on being accepted as LG volunteer. We shall all be waiting for inside info!!!!!!!!! Don’t worry about travelling alone (I’ve been there done that), you’ll be fine. Just don’t take too much luggage.
Linda - Lovely to see you.
Thanksgiving greetings to friends across the Pacific.
I’m not teen-sitting this weekend. Yeay! Dau2 has asked me to go tomorrow to help with regular chores and to help supervise g-chn who are not behaving well. Endless arguments are wearing Dau & s-i-l down. They both have responsible jobs and don’t need drama in the evenings & weekends. Our new blinds arrive Tuesday, so I must go and clean inside of windows. Outsides can wait until nearer Xmas and panic days!!!

Here are pics of my grand-pets snapped last weekend. First is SIL's dog, Chilli, who sits by back door with eyes saying "Pat me".
This is Nutmeg. (Spice theme is deliberate.)
And she is not interested in fish.
Tiger, I remember the 1989 eclipse well. We left the office building I was working in and all stood in the car park. It was an amazing experience.
Lynette, you rest your vocal cords.
AQ, sorry about the youngster angst in the family but glad you don't have to teen sit this weekend. Love the picture and the pets are soooo cute.
OK, it's past my bedtime (9pm) so catch everyone tomorrow.
Nice to meet you, Eagle-eye!!! Come back often!
AQ: What a great dog and cat. I would give that dog a pat.
Me again (seem to be on here a lot today, probably because everything's closed so nowhere to go). We just got back from dinner out with daughter, which was fine (nice wine) but everything else a bit ho hum. Still, it was good to see her. Grandson was with girlfriend's family this year. Granddaughter in Prescott AZ a bit depressed but looking forward to coming back to SB for Christmas.
Eagle-eye: Do stop by again, especially since we now know who your OH is.....speaking of whom... Hallo there OG! Glad your son is feeling better.
Daisy Ray: Ugh, filling out forms and making sure people have copies - what a bore. But great your daughter has good friends and workmates.
Lynette: Funny how so many of us are up and about in the middle of the night. What a busy world.
Tiger: Wouldn't be at all surprised if you remembered all important events (birthdays, etc., etc.,) based on astronomical phenomena occuring at the time. :-) Good grief! 1544, 1917, and now 2485 before another three lunar eclipses in one year? Don't fancy my chances.....
AQ: Congrats on being teen-free this weekend. Now just don't answer the phone....!! Oh dear, too bad about kid-induced drama; who needs that after a hard day at work! Nice critter pix.
Am going to fall into bed early with Henning Mankell book and toasty socks and bed jacket! Take care all.
