Morning/evening all: Off to catch up on today's posts.

  • Thanks, Tiger -   "Wow"  is right!!!!  - just love those pics.

  • Morning ALL, frosty morning here too. Arrgh Wendy, poor you with snow already! Glad to hear you have a new laptop, that's great.

Doing a catch up of posts as I didn't get much chance yesterday and enjoying all your photos.

Yes, have just been viewing that APOD Tiger. Absolutely rivetting and found it so moving.

  • Hi from me.

Just thought I'd pop in + see how you are all doing this chilly morning.

The snow is as far south as Northumberland, about 2cm so far, but its looking v snowy to the north where the wind is from today!!

Hope you all stay cozy + enjoy the sun when it shines - Of to order 2 big bottles of gas for the hob + hope they deliver soon!! Will be out on the snowy rds later to collect D(arling) S(on)1 from badmiton after school club - heres hoping that the snow has been slushed away by then!

    Excuse wobbily dyslexic spelling!

  • Good Morning Everyone. Slight frost here but not as severe as some of you are saying.

Linda, As they say, ' better late, than never ' for the delivery of your new stove. Hope you are now able to enjoy using it, unless, of course, you get that other phone call from your son.

Annette, Your friend and her son really have got an extremely serious situation to cope with. The children must be confused why they can't see their mother, but they were obviously in so much danger when they were with her. I do know of a similar case where, 12 years later the father has raised the children and the mother still loves the drink more and has lost contact with her children completely. She has had all kinds of help, including hospital but still returns to drinking. It is good your friend can talk to you. They are going to need all the help they can get. So sorry. I see Liz has answered about the penguins, they are the priority not the tourists. They have been been told that cameras are completely banned but obviously they can buy videos / photographs.

OG, I find I am now looking for the next roundabout report. I hope that snow doesn't stop them completing the job.

Wendy, It is time you were out of bed. I can't join in the whisky discussion as I just don't like any of it, but it is OH's favourite tipple. I know there are various bottles in the cupboard but would have to go and look to see what they are !

Osprey, Good to see you on here. Sorry about the snow. Do take care.

  • Good morning osprey and snow already for you.  We have a very hard frost here in Southern England but by the end of the week we might have snow showers.  Have to say I don't like the snow at all always frightened I am going to fall over and ihjure myself.  Take care when collecting your son later today.

  • osprey:   Hi!  Good to see you on here!  What a horrid, cold day it is. Am wearing my long vest!   (Have a friend who doesnt wear them unless in Switzerland or similar, who says "are you wearing your vest yet?"  as if it decides when winter has arrived!)

'Fraid I do drink whisky, and enjoy a good slug of Bells when I can get it.  Annoy the true scots who hate it when I add some dry ginger, though.  Don't like the exotic 'special' blends, just like the rough taste of the basic Bells or Grouse, so does my OH.

margo has put us all to shame by doing most of her Christmas shopping in one day! Don't even know what some of my relatives are going to ask for, yet.

Loved that film about the hilll becoming a mountain - think it had Hugh Grant in one of his first starring roles.

EDIT:   Hi margo!  see we have crossed again.  Nice to hear that Rhys is doing well, and eats all put before him!

  • Good morning Lindybird and like you we had a very hard frost this morning.  Took a while to defrost the bird baths.  Can't believe I saw a couple of sparrows enjoying themselves just after I refilled it, as the water must have been freezing.

Pleased your new cooker arrived eventually, hope you soon have it up and running.

Hopefully Sweet Pea will make an appearence shortly if daughter in law is that close to giving birth.  Must be hard for your son to go to work wondering if today is the day.
