Morning/evening all: Off to catch up on today's posts.

  • HELLO. I tried the site at about 10am; went out for lunch; tried again at 3pm;  Tried again after Tiger's post and by the time I went to post, the site had vanished again, so here I am again.

Linda, Would you tell your daughter-in-law to hurry up. I don't know how you are all coping. The suspense is killing me !

Annette, I love your avatar. It is one of the one's I preferred.

Just checked the site again and it is playing games again at 17.35 so will try later to post this before I write anymore.

  • Went down again shortly after my last post.

  • Hi, all! Golly, I was beginning to think that you all didn't exist anymore!

I'll be back tonight to catch up with everyone, but I just wanted to check in while I could get the site and wish you all a Happy Full Moon! If you go by the old rules, this is also a Blue Moon. http://news.yahoo.com/s/space/20101119/sc_space/thereallystrangestorybehindsundaysbluemoon

Annette: You're welcome, re: the rose!

Lindy: Best wishes for the birth of dear little Sweetpea!

    Back later.

  • Yes the site is being a bit temperamental to say the least Diane. Happy blue moon to you too, it is a very misty moon for me but at least I can see it. Love the new Avatar BTW.

  • Hi all, not posted for a couple of days or so - had a devil of a job to sign on this evening but managed it in a roundabout way.

Just been catching up on all your news.  Love the pics of the Ark Royal and the cute pics of pussy's.

Harking back to the sixties - does anyone remember crimplene. I remember going away in a crimplene dress and coat for our honeymoon. Wore quite a bit in those days.  ~Very interesting series of programmmes.

Just spent a lovely day at our daughter-in-laws celebrating our daughters birthday., Had a bit to drink so when I got home must have slept it off 'cause the next thing I knew was that it was 9.30pm or thereabouts.....hmmmm.

Been a very dull day down here and nippy too - a real November day!!

  • Same here about the NZ miners, it must be very worrying as they can't make progress at the moment because of the gas it is giving off.  Do hope they have managed to find a pocket of air - like the Chilean miners - and are safe??

Glad to see Murray has won.   Wasn't Strictly a farse tonight - they are still voting for Anne Widdicombe to stay on and reasonable dancers to go.   What has got into the British public that they vote for someone to stay on so they can have a laugh at their expense - its not funny anymore.  Will common sense prevail next week??

  • Hi, I’m back. But having trouble catching up with your chatter as every time I click for a new page, I get an error message and have to start all over. Sometimes I can’t even log on to website. Grrr. I survived the weekend teen-sitting, and so did they. LOL. I discovered Dau1 has all 3 of Stieg Larrson’s books which I have borrowed, rather than wait for the queue at local library. Ghastly days are here, already 25 C by 7 am, expecting 35 C. My washing was dry by 10 am. Grass on front lawn has turned crisp. And we are back to bailing rinse water from washing machine on to garden. I read that locusts have reached Morgan in the Riverland. More aerial spraying underway. I fear my precious vegie patch is doomed if they reach the city. Yesterday arvo we enjoyed Dau2’s concert. She plays clarinet in community concert band. Wide range of music from classical to film. Guest artists were 3 Aussie girls playing Japanese drums. Wow!! they were spectacular. Energetic. Such booming sounds from the big drums. Some snippets on You Tube

Latest on the NZ miners. They are talking of sending in a robot. I just hope the guys have found a pocket of air somewhere.

Lynette - Oh yes crimplene. It didn’t crease.

  • Evening/morning all: Had heckuva time getting on here earlier  - got a "This page doesn't exist" message.  Today's storm brought much colder air - they're forecasting frost in the valley this week - with another small storm due Tuesday!  Apparently the jet stream is zooming down the coast from Alaska and making a quick left turn over our area before heading off across the country.

SheilaFE: Re avatars, I was torn between the whale fluke and one of the roses; decided the roses are a constant while the whales are a bit hit and miss. Glad you made it to the party and had a good time.

Lynette: Don't remember crimplene - but the last couple of years they've had this crinkly material that always looks creased - in a nice way.  Sleeping off daughter's b'day party, eh?  Sounds like a good time was had by you at least.  :-)

AQ:  Ooooh, teen sitting. Did they make all kinds of unreasonable demands, hoping to take advantage of the situation?  :-)    I've reserved the Larrson's books-turned-movies on Netflix.  During our summers, I can hang the washing out damp from the machine and it dries almost before I can get in the house!

Diane: Assume the blue moon inspired your new avatar?

Hope the site doesn't play up too much Monday. Take care everyone.

  • Those link regarding the ospreys catching crab and double fish were from Texas. I had not ever heard of Texas ospreys before. I did a seach and came up with this. Some very nice picture in that link.

  • Morning all ... couldn't get on the site yesterday, and having trouble again this morning. Just a quick post in case it disappears again! Yet another wet day here ... DAY FOUR of rain :-((

Have just read through the chat, so thanks to everyone for links etc. Will try again later.

    Take care
