Evening/Morning all: Off to check out recent posts.

  • Margo - oh how you rush about - birds, bin and into town shopping and back all before lunch!  Sounds like you are enjoying making plans for Christmas - preceded by more rushing about!  We have Miranda recorded to watch during lunch or dinner - so don't tell me what she got up to this time.  The previous series was wonderful - but so few episodes!  So pleased your OH is coming to terms with his loss, and enjoyed a laugh last evening.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Good afternoon original goldfinch and my OH always asks why I rush around so much.  It is tthe way I am and always have been.  Think a lot of it is to do with my Army days when things had to be done by a certain time.  I have been retired 4 years now and don't really need to rush about but old habits die hard.  I didn't say in my post as it was a bit boring but I also did some housework before I went out along with the other jobs.  I get up at 6.30 most days so I can get jobs done and finished and then enjoy my "me time".

Don't know whether you have watched Miranda yet, if so hope you had a good laugh and if not you will have a good laugh.  I agree not enough episodes last time.  She is one very talented lady.

  • Haven't watched it yet - had to finish Sunday's Scotland's Landscape thingy for lunch (the one about water, don't think that one has been on in England yet) then have University Challenge lined up for tea, so I guess Miranda will be Wednesday for lunch!!  Must get changed to go for bloods!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Alan Thanks for the great pic of the juvenile with 2 fish, well done her/him .

  • Morning all:  Having a hard time keeping up with the posts!

AQ: Hope you're feeling a bit more "inflated" this morning. :-)   Re Mrs. Maggie, you know what Moms are like when it comes to their young. But clarifiy two "beggars" - I initially thought homeless people....?

Tiger: Just did the the Copy/Paste with dog and got one right in the middle of this post, but figured we had enough live action already this morning so deleted him.  Geez. I don't even have a clever avatar.....

OG: Loved the description of all the comings and goings in your garden.  :-)   I hate shopping. Am tall and skinny but pants are typically not long enough and If by some miracle they are, they're too wide. Also, seems like many pants now  "sit below natural waist"  and I haven't seen my "natural" waist in quite a few years! Muffin tops anyone?  I'm with you on C*****mas.  I find the animations a bit distracting, although they don't bother my eyes. Maybe we should start an "Animated Weekly Chat, etc., etc......"   :-)

Auntie/DjoanS:  Never mind the weeks, I wonder where the years go!

Margo: Billy Whizz is very lucky to have you keeping an eye out - plus milk and snacks.  Wow! I'm impressed that you get all your shopping done in one day - and by lunchtime? Amazing!  Do you put money in the Christmas cake? (My Mum used to put sixpenny bits in.)    Oooh, a day in the New Forest sounds wonderful - would that be in the spring?

Alan: Went to friend's house last night and en route saw two houses with Christmas lights up already. Bah humbug!

Off for quick workout at gym before haircut at 10. Hurray!  Hair is a bit like a haystack right now and full of split ends and tangles.  Have a nice evening all.

  • Wow Alan, that would be a sight to see     It had definitely been to Tesco for a BOGOF (buy one, get one free.)

  • TIGER  won't tell dillon about  dog     may have to scrub it after all as OG has posted that animations are giving her eye trouble and he is wagging his tail furiously.

Hospital appt and saw the frightening x rays for the first time 2 screws into right and big plate with 6 screws on other side and 1 large screw to link the bones together. Apparently even really experienced orthopaeds had not seen anything quite like it before. Anyway had stookie replaced and everything looked good and Dr said x ray looked good. Alarm  bells rang when he said I could start weight bearing a little, change cast again in2 weeks and more weight could be taken etc etc AND THEN HE READ MY NOTES. thank goodness he then called the consultant who confirmed what I already thought, so it is another 5 weeks non weight bearing.     Sorry, but you did ask!!!!!

  • Hi, all. It's a wet, dreary day here in Indiana. OG, sorry you must have blood tests this afternoon. Hope the results are fine. dibnlib, sorry about the 5 more weeks. Terrible.

Here's a lovely peacock and some flowers to cheer us all up today.

  • Oh no! Poor you dibnlib, seems a real nasty fracture. Glad it is doing well though. Is it still very painful?

Nice pic of the osprey Alan. Always good to see successful fishing! Lovely peacock picture too Diane, so colourful. Sorry to hear your weather is yucky.
