Evening/Morning all: Off to check out recent posts.
Forgot to say that OH took me for a wheelie at North Kessock before we went to Tiso. A glorious day cold but blue sky and sunshine (my favourite) Met a chap with 2 Wheaten Terriers - he was most surprised that I recognised the breed.
Anyway as I suspected can get no further with my animated pic. I eventually got into my profile but when I paged down to signature I still didn't find anyway of inserting a pic whether animated or not. So 10/10 for description of help from TIGER/CHLOE 0/10 for me trying to implement said help.
dibnlib if you have the animation in webspace ie Photobucket or similar, you can simply copy and paste your animation directly into your sig box. It won't be animated if you upload it from your computer.
If you want to sign up for a free Photobucket account, go to www.photobucket.com
Why don't you practice with one of the animations we posted earlier? Copy it from here and paste it into your sig box?
Here try this one for starters. It will work as it is linked to my webspace.
ChloeB & Tiger's Osprey Data
Usual seasonally cool, bright weather. Had a lazy day today, must get more motivated tomorrow. Son phoned back last evening – had been fast asleep when I rang – slept right through from breakfast to evening Sunday, must have needed it to sleep like that. He had been to see Dau#2 in Inverness Saturday, but that shouldn’t have worn him out!
Wendy – OH, Son and I loved the food at Glenmore Forest Visitor Centre when we called there in early July – will definitely go there again - - and Loch Morlich is one of my favourite Lochs.
Terry – I waved at Silloth Sunday at sunset, but of course you weren’t at work then!
AQ – wonderful description and pics from the wedding – another lovely couple, and very smart MoB in pink – and Miss 14 is very attractive too. So pleased your MiL was able to be there – and how thoughtful of your Daughter to have her taken home in the wedding car. How sensible to intersperse the speeches between courses at the meal – not too much of either all at once. Love the unusual bouquets too. Pleased it was such a happy family occasion. Good luck with the weekend teen-sitting!
Lindy – not sure I liked the Smiles this week - and the painted dog scenario looks positively dangerous!
Alan – thanks for posting pic of EJ – I didn’t know she had been on TV last night!
Brenda – so glad your Son is phoning as well as emailing, and pleased they are having a good time.
Margo – pleased you enjoyed Sat night meal and Sunday in London – despite weather and road closures – probably best to avoid London when Royals are on the loose!
Anyone who I’ve not mentioned – greetings!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
The painted dog was a star...daughter has an 18th month old little girl (avatar) and it is nurture not nature. She is a bit like a greyhound lots of running and even more sleeping. Her best friends are children but they have not been given crayons .... yet!!!
I must admit I was the first to be worried when Daisy May arrived but I love her and trust her to bits.
Chef back at Loch Morlich on Wednesday...his scones with homemade pesto are just the best.
Like the new doggie avatar, Wendy.
Don't know anything about the subjects of my photos in the Monday Smile - they were sent to me by a friend of a friend & are probably doing the rounds of the WWW. Must admit that dog must be very placid - but I supposed that the crayon would be harmless to the animal, so no harm done!
Alan: Was green with envy that you had seen EJ on TV last night, then realised that I had videod the programme about Scotland - so we have just viewed it now - and there she is! Wonderful!
Thanks to all for your lovely comments on Dau’s wedding. You do give a boost to one who is feeling somewhat deflated.
Tiger - re rain & drought in SA. On Saturday Adelaide received 2.2 mm of rain, just enough to dampen everything. (That’s less than 10 points in old measure.) This year we have had average rainfall after several years of low. However rain at this time of year (spring) is not very welcome. Downy mildew warnings for grape growers. Crops should be nearly ready to harvest. Max temp Sat was 18 C - this time last year we were experiencing temps of 39 C.
Our white-backed magpies continue to amuse. Mrs Maggie doesn’t like OH attempting to feed Junior directly. When OH tosses a scrap towards J, Mrs M rushes over to snatch it, then she feeds J. I said that she has warned J about taking gifts from strange men!!! What she doesn’t know is that Junior has learnt to sing and comes to the front door soliciting on his own. LOL. The stump of the liquidamber remains and serves as a perching spot for a willie wagtail. Alas Junior keeps chasing Willie around and around the stump. J doesn’t want the stump for himself - just playing "chasee".Not so amusing early this morn when Mrs M began singing her heart out. OH slumbered on. I found 2 beggars on the front verandah and another waiting across the road.
AQ - another set of very good wedding photos, and the feast description was mouth watering! It is a lovely idea using gardens for weddings - my nephew got married in one in the Dandenongs (slightly NE of Melbourne for those that are not aware of the location) Glad the weather held for the happy event.
Alan - what programme on BBC2 was it that had photo of EJ? Oh have just looked in the Radio Times for the programme variations for England - was it Iain Stewart's Making of Scotland's Landscape? If so we had it 2 weeks ago here.
Annette - your photos of the courthouse were really good and seem a very good example of Spanish architecture. The sunshine and blue skies just enhanced them all.
Dibnlib - hope the coffee in Tiso' wasn't too expensive !! It is really hard to go in there just for a coffee and not look around and end up parting company with ££££s!!
Good Morning All. A cold and frosty morning here but can't see any fog, thank goodness.
Having worked quite hard on the HW yesterday, I went to bed last night feeling quite tired, so why did I wake at 2.30 am feeling wide awake and unable to go back to sleep. I started the ironing at 5.30am and now want to go back to bed !
Annette, Son is not due home utill mid January, but, yes, they do seem to be enjoying themselves.
Margo, Sorry the rain ruined some of your Sunday plans. It was torrential here at times. You obviously made the right decision to return home early. Your MiL sounds great. I hope I will be able to continue enjoying life when I am her age.
Dibnlib, We are waiting to see your animated sig, to appear. I am not sure I want to see the labrador chewing the balloon though. I am worried it will swallow it.
Wendy, My laptop is dark blue. I am afraid I could never have a pink one. Pink always makes me think of Barbara Cartland !!
I think I need some coffee, but as I drink decaff. tea and coffee, it is not going to wake me up.
Morning, All. Sunny & bright here, so a lovely autumn day approaches, I hope. We have had cold nights lately, though. I'm off for a coffee with a friend when I've got around to washing my hair- look like poor old Stan Laurel this morning! Looking forward to driving down the leafy lanes with the lovely autumn colours all around, what leaves there are left, anyway, after the winds.
Brenda: You sound somewhat confused - the ironing is supposed to be done in the hours of daylight, you know! Don't go letting us all down by being super efficient & getting it done before we are up! (hope you can now catch up on your sleep, nothing worse than being tired.)
Good morning, all. No frost here today – white cloud after earlier red sunrise, but cloud is slowly thinning. No plans for me this morning, but blood tests this afternoon – golly, is it really another month gone by?! OH is going to spend morning fitting his extra floorboards in the loft. Arranged Christmas visit from Dau#1 and family by emails last night – but have said we will understand if Gdau#1 has better things to do with her friends so near Christmas – they are coming 18th December.
AQ – I was commenting to OH about the bird politics in our garden this morning – then read your Maggie tales – obviously it’s the same the whole world over! Mrs Blackbird chases Mr, who chases another Mr who chases a melanistic Mrs, who always ends up bottom of the pecking order. One Dunnock pops out of hedge, then second who always follows close on its heels (do birds have heels?) – this is a cue for the Robin to come bobbin’ along – and Chaffinch to come down from the roof, then along come the Starlings, and everybody scatters. The starlings argue among themselves so nobody actually eats much, then off they go – and we start all over again – with variations when Goldfinches, Tits, Doves etc are around.
Brenda – sorry you woke so early – hope you get a rest during the day. I have some ironing here, if you need some more to do having finished it so early!
Sun has come through the cloud again so need to move rather than close the blind to keep it out of my eyes.
