Evening/Morning all: Off to check out recent posts.
Hi, all.
FOR SPACE FANS: Today: Two Russian cosmonauts will float outside the International Space Station to perform various tasks. They will be outside for almost 6 hours beginning at 9:25 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. I think that's 2:25 p.m. for most of you UK folks on this blog.

Also, for die-hard astronomy fans: Take a look at this extraordinary discovery announced last week. Gave me goose bumps. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2010/11/101110-science-space-mystery-structures-gamma-rays-bubbles/
I'll be back later to catch up with everyone.
AQ: THANKS for the wedding photos and description. Just glorious! I'm so glad that the weather cooperated. What a beautiful wedding with such beautiful people (including you!). I'll comment more later. Everyone have a good day.
Thanks for the links Diane.
Yes those gamma ray bubbles featured as an APOD last week. LOL doesn't do to dwell on things too much does it? Are we all going to disappear down a huge plughole one of these days? :)
Speaking of the ISS, today's APOD is very topical and really lovely.

LOL, Chloe!!! Should be a wild ride!!!
Thanks Tiger. Good team! You find 'em, I shrink 'em :)
LOL yes, Diane it certainly should. Best take something along to combat the vertigo! :)
Morning all: Site is loading very slowly for me this morning. Very imipressed by all the clever animated stuff - don't look for any from me though. :-) Sounds like a frosty morning all round in the UK.
Lindybird: Lovely pix - love that little girl dancing with the statue - the look on her face is priceless. The others are a hoot; it's the pig with priceless look on its face in #2!
Josh: Welcome (whichever thread you're on). (Seem to know a lot of Josh's and Joshua's these days....)
WendyB: Someone told me a few years back that "pink" was the new "black." :-)
Alan: Thanks for shot of EJ - nice to be reminded.
Brenda: Oh dear, forgot when your son is due back - sounds like they're having a wonderful time.
Margobird: And a good time was had by all, eh? Do hope I'm up for jazz brunches when I'm Mom-in-law's age. Did someone say berry crumble? Yum.
Diane/ChloeB: Re those gamma rays, etc., makes me glad, too, that we're - at least for the moment - in a relatively quiet part of the universe. Seems awfully busy out there.
Off to start the day. Take care everyone.
Whoa, Diane - Gamma Ray Bubbles??? and Black Holes?? - the only thing that makes me calm down after reading that, as I said to my OH, is that I put on so much weight on holiday there would have to be an extra large black hole for me to go down it, now!!
Enjoyed the shrunken pictures, Tiger & Chloe!
Glad you enjoyed your London trip and the Italian meal, margobird. And Joe Brown sounds such fun, wish I could go, too!
DjoanS: Dog didn't exactly steal the biscuits, just put on that awful pleading face & got one from each of us in sympathy - typical manipulation!
Loved the colour of your outfit, AQ, - as Annette says, glad that all your hard work in planning for the two weddings came off and now you have some lovely memories to look back on. By the way, thanks for the great pictures of your trip which I have now read through since I missed them a week or so ago. Also thanks to Kellogs for the QE2 pictures - they were great - you must have enjoyed your outing to view her progress.
Lindybird Hope there is no copyright on the dog being painted picture as I have forwarded it youngest daughter. Daisy May spends a lot of time in that position now that they have underfloor heating. Does your little lady have a name?
Super sunny trip into Inverness. I go down towards Aviemore then cut across to Schlodt and then up the A9. Cairngorms bathed in sunshine, snow on top and then lots of fluffy clouds. Scenes like that remind me that the winters are worth putting up with.
Just after Tomatin on the A9 a red kite having a happy time in the sunshine.
According to the BBC web site we have not had a frost..yeah right..it was minus 1.5 at 12 o'clock as I drove through Grantown.
CHLOE/TIGER thanks for help, so far have identified an animated pic and saved to laptop. Not sure how much further I will get as know nothing about photobucket or similar so at the mo pic is saved to our pics. Now my page is frozen so can go no further but I have a feeling that if I manage to post the animation it will not be animated!!!!!! Will keep trying, in the meantime just love everyone elses animations.
Went to Tiso for coffee and bumped into total strangers from Craigellachie. Turns out the lady smashed up her ankle really badly a year ago (by all accounts the ankle bones were just a mish mash) so words of sympathy all round
