Evening/Morning all: Off to check out recent posts.
Morning all ... beautiful morning here, but VERY cold. I had to break the ice on the birdbath earlier ... third time already this year, and that's early for us here at the coast :-(
I haven't posted over the weekend, but I have been reading ... I just don't know where the weekends go to!
AQ - how lovely to come on here this morning and see all your photos and description of the wedding. A beautiful location and the bride's dress is so simple and elegant ... Miss14 is a very pretty girl. Sounds like a wonderful meal too ... especially the dessert .... yummy!!!
Linda - thanks for the Monday Smiles. I haven't read Return of the Osprey ... must put it on my list. Glad the dog managed to snaffle the biscuits :-))
Wendyb - your account of your last winter sounds horrendous, fingers crossed for you this year that it isn't as bad. Love your demented penguin by the way! Sorry about your three woes .. hopefully that is the end of them.
Diane - thanks for the pic of the pileated woodpecker ... he looks wonderful ... quite an aristocrat!
margobird - glad you enjoyed the concert and hope you've had a good weekend too.
OG - lovely sunset photograph ... hot choc and shortbread sounds just the thing!
Thanks to all I haven't mentioned for chat, links etc
Take care
Joan - avid bird and nature watcher in Northumberland!

Good Morning ALL from a cold and damp feeling E. Sussex. Still grey here but sunny intervals promised.
I have just spent an hour talking to my son, who is now in W. Australia. He rings every week and we have received over 1000 photographs from China and Japan, plus e-mail reports. It not only keeps us up to date of where they are and what they have seen, but is also a fantastic record for them to read in future years. They are taking a rest from driving for a couple of days and have been snorkelling today and were able to see some manta rays at Coral Bay in temperaturres of 34C, which OH commented was the same as here but read 34 fahrenheit.
AQ, Such lovely photographs. The bride looked so beautiful in such an elegant dress. The menu certainly sounds delicious and that dessert, so mouth watering. After all the worry of shopping for your outfit, you look absolutely lovely. I am so glad that everything was so enjoyable and that the rain stopped falling.
I must go and do some HW and catch up with you all, later.
WENDY went to your sos and was totally and completely baffled. Will have a look again later. Don't think I will ask OH as has enough on his plate at the mo, what with having me dependant on him.
DjoanS I am sure the winter won't be as bad this year...the power of positive thinking. We live 2 miles down a dead end unadopted road but at the end of the road is a very small distillery and they have to keep the road open for there barley to come in and spirit to go out so we could be classed as lucky. The only downside is all distilleries close for 2weeks over Christmas and New Year so we have to be creative. My Asda order came the 2miles from the main road in a friends tractor bucket.
So when you read Richards account of weather around Abernethy forest that just about sums up my weather here.
Luckily OH works from home so it doesn't give him a problem but I think some people struggled.
We have been here 9 years and the first 2 white Christmas mornings were magical...now it seems to pass unnoticed.

Hi dibnlib. You first have to find a (free) gif animation somewhere online. There are lots of sites out there if you google. Do you have anything in particular in mind? Once you find what you want you need to save it to your computer and then upload into an online album. I use Photobucket but there are others. Once you have done that you can copy it from there into the signature box in your profile. Does that sound clear to you so far?
ChloeB & Tiger's Osprey Data
Hi ALL, frosty morning here too but lovely and sunny.
According to XCWeather seems we are due for more wild and windy weather this week. Better batten down the hatches again.
dibnlib Maybe something like:
orBoth would need a bit of shrinking!! But we all know someone who is good at that! :)
This is what my tiger was supposed to do over eight years ago.
Tiger Signature
LOL love them both Tiger :)
Shrunk! :)
Good morning all from a cold and very frosty Poole. Took OH about 15 mintues to get the ice off the car this morning. Very hectic but enjoyable weekend. Nice meal with our friends on Saturday evening at the Itlaian Restaurant that we love so much. Didn'g get to bed until about 12 and then up again at 6.15 to get ready to go up to London. Off course I have to do my bird things before I go to make sure that they have plenty for the day and also our little stray. Left 2 bowls of food and 2 bowls of milk out for him/her.
We were told that we there would be a few showers of rain some being heavy, but it started to rain at 10 and never stopped until the evening. We went up to London to meet up with OH's mother, brother, wife and son. Mother's 81st birthday and she is amazing for her age. If I didn't know I would say she looks in her mid-60's. Very active lady who loves big band music and jazz and visits London herself every Friday to go to a pub where they have jazz on a Friday lunchtime. We had a very nice meal, I had a steak which was just delicious, started off with a prawn dish and finished up with a berry crumble. We had booked to come back on the coast at 6 but as it was raining we did not have a walk round and went back to Victoria Coach station to see if we could get on an earlier one. We were very lucky as we managed to get on 4.30 so arrived home much earlier than thought. Bit tired but we watched Strictly and the Results show which we had recorded. Excellent show last night and Scott really was the best. I have a very soft spot for Matt though and thought he did well with such a difficult dance. The rhumba always causes lots of problems for the male but I enjoyed watching him.
Such a shame the weather was so bad for Rememberance Sunday. All those attending must have been soaked and so cold. Very difficult to get around as there were so many roads closed, the taxi driver that took us to restaurant had a terrible job getting us there. He said that more roads were shut this year so we had to cross the river twice before we could get to our destination and some of the roads were not open again until after 4.
AQ lovely wedding pics and so pleased all went well.
Alan Joe Brown still sings "That's what Love will do", not every time we see him but is does come around quite often. As he says they tour so much it is always hard for them to decide what to sing and what to leave out. Whatever he does is fine by me though and as I said Friday's concert was excellent. I have quite a few CD's now and can sing along to my heart's content.
Diane lovely pic of the woodpecker.
Lindybird enjjoyed the Monday Snile as always. Yes that could have been me in my younger days. I know my sisters and I would often try Mum's shoes on and stagger around in her high heels.
Love the demented penguin. Hello to all I have not mentioned, enjoyed all the posts and the pics. I am way behind this morning. Spent over an hour trying to get the bird seed holder back together again. Have had to leave it for now and will see if OH has better luck than me.
Have a good day all and keep warm, I believe it is going to be very cold again tonight and then we are promised high winds and heavy rain again for Wednesday.
Margobird
Lindybird think I meant smile not snile.
