It is that time for a new thread again. We continue from Weekly Chat, Sunday, October 17, 2010 Last week had so many fascinating topics I am not sure what should be carried forward.
It was such an eclectic mix, my memory is of birthdays, bears, steam engines, hedgehogs, hummingbirds, osprey pictures, computers, relativity, quantum mechanics and cats of all types. No doubt it will be repeated in the week to come.
Oh I forgot. Outlaws and inlaws! :)

In the red corner we have a fox and in the blue corner a cat. Who do you back? See Fox v Cat.
TIGER Dillon is well thank you, also thanks to everyone for Puffin comments and other great pics on the site.
Busy day today and tomorrow I have my first major private dental appt. 1 1/2 hours in the chair, still it will be good to get it started.
MARGO thanks for your thoughts. So sorry you and OH are going through the mill at the mo with a funeral for OH to go to and worries about a friends OHs health. do take care of yourselves.
You must have had a good time at the farm. would love to get into an enclosure with meerkats - and glad to hear you had a hungry horse for company.
Afternoon all,
Welcome back Margo. I am glad you enjoyed looking after the animals at the farm. Sorry about your OH friend and friends OH. Must be a difficult time for you.
AQ : Thanks for the pics of the plants. Quite exotic although I do have a hibiscus in the garden.
Everyone else thanks for the chat, pics and links.
Lovely day here today with wall to wall sunshine. Just had a nice walk with Hamish and off to do some gardening now.
My friends Boxer "Alfie" is a bit under the weather at the mo. Thought you might like to see what a poorly Boxer looks like!!!!! Get well soon Alfie.
Good afternoon dibnlib and poor Alfie hope he gets better soon bless him. He does look rather sorry for himself.

Tiger thanks for the link to Fox v Cat. The vixen looked in poor health but was making sure her cubds got fed. Think the cat thought better of it in the end. It says that the vixen two years on is in much better health which was pleasing to see.
Afternoon all ... its been a beautiful day here, after a pretty miserable weekend, weatherwise! Ice on the windscreen this morning ... very early in the winter for that, where we live by the coast :-((
margobird - glad you enjoyed all the animals on your holiday. I'm like you ... I struggle with the LCD screen on my small camera, and there is nothing wrong with my eyesight! My good camera has both screen and viewfinder which I find much better.
dibnlib - poor Alfie ... he looks very sorry for himself ... lovely pic! Your puffins look wonderful.
Tiger - great video of the cat and fox ... pretty scrawny looking fox!
Alan - excellent photo of the hedgehog ... must have been very hungry to have ignored you.
More lovely pics from AQ and OG
We went along the coast this afternoon and had a walk along by St Mary's Island ... one of our favourite places to 'stroll'! It was very busy with the schools being on holiday this week. It was great to see lots of children exploring the rockpools etc. Some pics that I took:
St Mary's Island (again!) ... especially for Diane and her Dad! This time with the tide out. (Some teenagers got caught on the island when the tide came in at the weekend and had to be winched off by the RAF rescue helicopter ... I'd have been inclined to leave them there!!!)
.... and a couple of pics of the various seabirds being chased in by the tide!!
Thanks to all for chat etc
Take care

Good afternoon DjoanS and what lovely photos. Wish I could do the same but as I say I will have to get another camera which I will find easier to deal with.
Looks a lovely day where these pics were taken. We live quite near the sea but we had a really heavy frost this morning and it was lunchtime before it all went. Have to agree with your comments about the teenagers having to be winched off the Island. Some people just never seem to understand the tides and how dangerous it can be when it starts coming in.
Meant to say earlier today I just love your pics of the puffins dibnlib such appealing little birds.
Morning all: Quick look in before I whizz off again. Have been transferring "sensitive" files to an external hard drive and deleting from laptop....
Margobird: Very good of you to hang out with OH yesterday when he felt so low. What a shame about his friend - and your friend's OH too. I guess the lesson is to be thankful for our own good health and to try to enjoy every day to the fullest - hard sometimes when all the mundane chores come up. Nice that you had a horse to say goodnight to!
AQ: Plants in those gardens look fairly familiar to us.
Diane: Agree with silly mask - and crows probable comments! :-)
Tiger: My sis in the UK says they don't call you if you're over 70 there (or something) - but surely that can't be your case! :-))
Take care all.
