In the absence of Annette it falls to me to start the new weekly thread. Continuing from Weeky Chat, Sunday 3rd October 2010
I hope you all have a great week and no doubt we should welcome back Annette before the end of it. Hopefully the other holidaymakers will reappear too. It is so hard to keep track of but if memory serves me right both OG and Alicat are also on holiday. A birthday coming up on Saturday (16th) too :)
Tiger Signature
AQ I loved those pictures of the Australian outback.
Lindybird Until you mentioned him, I thought that Sir Bernard Lovell was dead so you have brought him back to life. The big radio dish dates from 1957.
I will see if I can seek out some of my amaryllis pictures. However mine decided to bloom just as I was about to leave on holiday last year. It has not bloomed this year :(
Morning Tiger.
Lovely day here so far. How about you?
Mentioning Sir Bernard reminds me I was going to pay another visit to Jodrell Bank this year but didn't get round to it.
Shame about your amaryllis. I am hoping one of my babies might flower this year.
Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.
ChloeB & Tiger's Osprey Data
Bright and sunny today, not much wind. OH feels urge to look for mushrooms so we are going to Keswick. We will take the launch around Derwentwater and get off in the woods then walk back.
This is Meggie and Leni two years ago, when they could both fit on my lap and before Leni decided his sister was suitable for teasing.
Terry in Cumbria
TerryM They are so lovely. Have a good fungi foray! :)
Aww Terry how lovely!. I have two marmalade and white and three black cats but it is many years since they looked like that :)
Your mushroom trip sounds great. Have fun! I wouldn't trust myself when it comes to distinguishing the goodies from the baddies when it comes to fungi though. I get mine from a shop :)
ChloeB. You never know your luck, you might pick up some magic mushrooms :) Even make shroom tea!
For you bear fans. I love this picture. See Lily and Hope
That's lovely Tiger, thanks. Remember when Hope was teeny-tiny?
Chloe, we do find magic mushrooms, but never pick them, of course... OH knows many different kinds, and will cook them up for tea, but I prefer to eat the ones I've bought!
TerryM I sort of remember Hope being born but I did not follow it that close. It was when Hope went missing toward the end of May that the whole Lily/Hope saga took off. I never really expected them to be reunited but they did get back together again and as the pictures shows, they still are together. Lily is currently thining about getting a den presumably for her and Hope.
Morning Everyone: Had a lazy start to the day with a bit of a lay in bed, after rushing about all this week.
Thanks to Tiger for starting off the thread again. Love the pic of Lily & Hope together! My amaryllis seem to suit themselves as to when they are going to bloom again, but I notice that they are never quite as spectacular as when you first plant them. I've probably put this one on before, but here it is again:
--- Lovely kittens, TerryM ! Just so cuddly...
My OH often picks mushrooms & seems to know which ones will not make you ill.... however, although I cook them for him they do not seem to agree with me, and I don't eat the wild ones.
The sun is coming out here, so will be out gardening & pruning soon.
