Index To Important Threads

One of the problem on this forum is that important threads sink and have to be bumped. An alternative to this is to create an index thread and then people can keep the link to this index in their favourites.

To start with I think the Odin and EJ are likely to be in use for some time yet.

The Odin thread is here

This group has evolved over a few years. Most people seem to be happy with it as is. Just every now and then someone "rocks the boat".

Yes. In this case they did it by resurrecting a comment I made 7 weeks ago.

I shall not read or respond to this thread again.

[/quote]Galatas, the post you responded to was from 22nd March!

  • Galatas do you seriously think we post in threads or 'bump' threads simply to push other threads off the front page?? Do you think this is a game?

Come on man. If and when we do bump a thread it is simply to move it up our own group list. Other than that we just post in it, like you have, when there is a need to and there is certainly a need to now.

I think that most members of this group are incredibly happy with it. They have said so over and over again as in this thread

However as you say some people like to feel superior in their knowledge of how forums should be run.

The reality is that the Loch Garten Group seems to know very well how forums should be run.

As for this thread I would think that the members know how useful it is to them.

Just how many people in the Loch Garten Group are aware of the home page?   Probably not that many as most people arrive at the Loch Garten Group via the main Loch Garten Blog which predates this forum by at least two years.  In reality it dates back to the Loch Garten diaries which date from 2003.

  • Thanks Tiger :-))

These are really useful, especially to a first yearling like me.

  • Thanks for the list of links Tiger :)
