Weekly Chat, Sunday August 29, 2010

Hallo everyone. Just started this but now off to actually read recent posts!

  • "Okay now let's see now.  'Tidy sticks; clean perching posts; tidy up moss; and say hello to webcam viewers.'  Hmm might need a hand with the sticks."

Warning!  This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar.  Approach with extreme edginess.

  • There's now some sort of mythical creature on the nest!

LOL Ok, I know it's an optical illusion. But it looks like a wee furry critter. Or maybe I just need sleep. LOL

  • morning all:)

Just gone 6.30am here and it's going to be a hot one, again.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I feel guilty so thanks:))

Paul, enjoyed the thought of the guard robin, very useful! Hope the egg was nice and like Linda, am interested in what else is on the menu.

Diana, thanks for that picture. Looks like a gremlin to me:) You may need some sleep as it's very early in the morning for you. How's things your way? still hot? We have a woodchuck/groundhog taken up residence in the yard so need to do something about that! i think they look cute but they dig big holes and can be dangerous for the horses.

AQ, thanks for the news and your front garden looks very colourful. That meal looks lovely and I would have had exactly what "himself" ordered.

Annette, thanks and hope you found some choccy last night. Sorry you had the fog around today but how lovely to hear the surf. On our trip we woke up to hear the waves lapping against the shore and it was so lovely. I know what you mean about people riding out hurricanes. Our friend's mum, who lives on Cape Cod and is 80, is boarding up the windows but staying there and watching "what passes by" !!

Hi Lynette - I think the sunrise pics were on Update of 19th August ... that's the date on my copies! If not it was the day before that

Thanks DJoanS, will look it up.

Lovely to hear that BigRab74 has become a dad, congratulations.

Just looking at the Abernethy forest cam and the chaffinches and tits are endlessly feeding from the feeder.

Looks a lovely day uf at LG too.

Hope all of you over the water miss the hurricane, although there will be parts of the country that will get battered no doubt. Thinking of you, keep safe.

  • Afternoon all,

Thanks for all the earlier chat and pics.

Margo : I hope that you have a great holiday in Cornwall and enjoy the Minack Theatre.

I think BigRab has got 3 young children now so he wont be blogging any time soon. LOL

Gary : I have just set up a leaf blower exclusion zone around the perimeter of my house.

Went on a shopping mission to Tescos today and it wasnt as bad as usual as some of the schools are back today. Still some low level screaming though. Off to take Hamish for his afternoon walk soon as it is a lovely day again here with sunny spells and warmer than of late.

  • Gary: Is there a groundhog relocation in your future? :-) I can tell you that they love apples. They always come to our apple tree when it has fruit. Maybe put an apple in a humane trap? And then take Mr. Groundhog on a nice little journey down the road? We have a red fox living on the property now -- kind of a rarity for this area. Weather has been very hot here, but we're getting rain today and a bit cooler air over the holiday weekend.  I hope that Earl poses no danger to you. I see he's back up to a Cat 4. Hope you stay safe. Don't feel guilty; I think everyone's just happy to see you on this thread!

  • Hi Tiger i just picked up my second mug from the printers thought you might like to see it,so once again thanks to you and Diane for the images

  • Lynette, dont know if you managed to track the sunrise images so i will post them for you Taken by Tiger and Diane

  • You're welcome, Alicat! What a wonderful idea. I hope you enjoy them very much!!!

  • Good afternoon all and thanks for all the chat and news.  I have not logged in since Tuesday as I am feeling really poorly.  Had to go to the doctor yesterday and found out that I have a chest infection and sinus infection so have been really off colour.  Couldn't have come a worst time, just before we go away.  OH is talking about delaying our departure until I feel well again.  I am on antibiotics now and already they seem to be kicking in.  What a good job I did all my holiday ironing last weekend.  Could not have stood for hours ironing at the moment.  Hoping I will feel better tomorrow so I can finish packing, not usually like this and I always pack through the week leaving just a few items to put in at the last moment.  Have absolutely no appetite and feel so weary despite being in bed really early for the past couple of nights.  I think it all stems from the horrible cold I had three weeks ago.

Lindybird hope you enjoyed your meal, I have been trawling through the posts but not taking a lot in at rhe moment.

Paul did like your post about the nest, made me smile as usual.

Sorry can't reply to everyone that posted but did enjoy reading all the posts.
