Hi, it was a day of misery for the two chicks. With EJ gone and it looks like Odin has gone too, there were no deliveries of fish yesterday.
Nature is playing its part. It is time the two juves went fishing for themselves or else start on their migratory journey. Odin has obviously felt it is time to kick start these two into foraging for themselves. If confirmed he is gone by the LG team it will be about the same time as last year.
The weather sounds foul at LG at the moment so hope they are sheltering safely somewhere.
Only time and a new day will tell us what is happening.
Over to the early morning team and thanks to all of you in California, Australia, Finland, and elsewhere for keeping us updated.

Have a lovely family evening Lynette! They may not be on the nest, but they are still calling from afar.

Nest appears to be empty.
Patriciat - congratulations in advance for October - can't grumble at 41 years, its still an achievement today.Went to my sister-in-laws 40th WA at the weekend. Sorry slightly off kilter again.
All seems quiet again and is that rain I hear?
Sorry, screwed the pics up. And the site is so slow or is it me ?
They are in this tree
Sandra P said: I just read the LOTL Blog and it says chicks not been seen for two day's and that Laird will probably leave now knowing he has done his job. End of another year at the Lowes.

This is excellent Sandra - i am so pleased. Well done Laird and juveniles.
Sheila - very well done on joining the ranks of us Happy Snappers :)
'Our' youngsters we in the same tree for quite a while yesterday too. I suppose they can keep an eye on the nest from where they are in case there are any intruders.
Patriciat - is it you also deserving of congratulations? Well, very many of them.

Oh, yes, very good indeed Chloe :)
Been onto the LOTL site and the official blog virtually confirms that the juves and possibly Laird as well have started their migration. What a remarkable family they were this year.
It was probably the wind and not rain I heard, but all is once again quiet.
The last I heard of Odin was a second hand report by abunni on the main blog..........gives am 22nd Aug.
"Well here we are back from LG Centre...... there was some real excitement there this morning when not just one but two intruders appeared, the chicks on the nest were alarmed and mantled, then Odin swept in and chased the intruders away. I didn't see this, but this afternoon when I was there an intruder appeared, one chick was in the nest the second flew quickly over and they both screamed at the intruder..... no Odin this time but the intruder left chased off by the chicks, according to one of the staff they realise that it is their nest that is being coveted."
