Hi, it was a day of misery for the two chicks. With EJ gone and it looks like Odin has gone too, there were no deliveries of fish yesterday.
Nature is playing its part. It is time the two juves went fishing for themselves or else start on their migratory journey. Odin has obviously felt it is time to kick start these two into foraging for themselves. If confirmed he is gone by the LG team it will be about the same time as last year.
The weather sounds foul at LG at the moment so hope they are sheltering safely somewhere.
Only time and a new day will tell us what is happening.
Over to the early morning team and thanks to all of you in California, Australia, Finland, and elsewhere for keeping us updated.

''poor Deshar's navigation equipment let him down. ''
'Morning Patriciat - it seems to have let him down initially when he set out over the north sea, but according to Richard, there were east winds blowing when he flew over the English Channel and those winds were why he was blown out over the Atlantic ocean, And Odin is still my hero too - he has indeed done a great job of providing for his brood - and so maternal !!

Morning all, Cirrus, the question of when Eldest left. I am posting a pic which I took on the 17.8.10 which I think was the eldes, but perhaps you could confirm with your keen eye.
Pretty miserable up there. Thanks for this mornings updates and pics.
This I think is the Eldest???
So sorry Lynette but thank you so much - it's just too indistinct for me to make a definitive judgement. With my own pic I was watching the bird stride around the nest and so on.

Hear hear! My own sentiments entirely! from Chloe B
And of course your comment Lindybird. I often get it wrong and am put right by other members who are more keen eyed than me. Just for the record , another one I took on the 15th which I think is the Eldest even though he is mantling with back to us.
Back later, have to go to the dentist, gym, then shopping for a meal tonight as it is WA and hubbies b'day.
Will catch up with you all later.
Well, now Lynette - the sun does make it difficult to ID this bird but I have to say it certainly does have an Eldest 'cast' about it! In as much as it doesn't seem to have a 'young' profile like MIddle or Youngest . However, I'm not prepared to definitively state that it is. (Coward that I am :) )
3 days since last fish delivered to nest.
With regard to Nethy I do not think anyone reported seeing White AY this year did they?
